Is anybody else in academia *really* struggling with motivation at the moment? With the combination of deep restructuring, the dreadful labour market and gen AI, it feels like the walls are closing in. Some of us were hoping to work for 20 more years!
Probably an unpopular take, but the reason the idea of students loans being a 'scam' is gaining traction is because of the complete failure of the media to explain/interrogate how the system underwent fundamental changes under the 14 years of Tory government. Only Martin Lewis can claim any credit.
