It’s the being a US citizen that gives them rights in a US election, not being Palestinian.

Count them and report back

07.03.2026 20:20 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Why would they have those rights in an American election? What rights do the French have in US elections?

07.03.2026 20:19 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Yes. Do you need a full explication of the limits of first amendment speech to recognize a common shorthand? Do you believe free speech rights are absolute and have no limits in any situation?

How do Palestinians have a right to a candidate to speak for them in American elections?

07.03.2026 20:16 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Go count them then

Which rights did voting for Harris give up? That’s the question on the floor.

Ok babe

07.03.2026 20:14 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I’ve answered more than you have.

Does being Palestinian give you a vote in US elections?

Ok babe

I meant you didn’t respond to my question. Were you confused?

07.03.2026 20:09 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

You first.

07.03.2026 20:08 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

It wasn’t meaningless. It just had at most a minor impact on Gaza, while having a major impact on other issues.

07.03.2026 20:08 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 1

To the extent they’re both rights, which is why your question was worthless?

07.03.2026 20:07 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Unresponsive. Try again.

07.03.2026 20:06 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

No. It wouldn’t have even if Harris had been successful, but Israel would be less likely to have pushed maximalist action, & less likely to attack Iran.

The very point that the vote was immaterial to the genocide is what makes using it to decide an expressive act of aesthetics.

07.03.2026 20:06 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

We give up maximalist interpretations of rights all the time in order to serve the greater good. I give up my right to freedom of movement when I stop at a stop sign; I give up my right to free speech by not yelling β€œFire!” in a crowded theater.

Why don’t you say what you want to say?

Which rights did voting for Harris give up?

07.03.2026 20:00 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Did not voting for Harris prevent genocide?

Thinking it would is an expressive act of individualist aestheticsβ€” you don’t want your identity connected to the genocide, so you take an act of allocating power and instead turn it into a performance of your values unrelated to underlying materialism

Are you a sovcit?

07.03.2026 19:55 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Who coordinates voting?

What are you actually trying to ask?

07.03.2026 19:54 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Maybe voters could fulfill their responsibilities as citizens?

07.03.2026 19:52 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

…does the US have a democracy?

07.03.2026 19:52 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

So lawyers have more responsibility for the laws than legislators?

07.03.2026 19:51 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Gotta do it, though.

07.03.2026 19:17 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

State Dems should. It’s important to run someone in every race, and rural areas have lower media costs and turnout thresholds.

They prioritized voting as an expression of aesthetics, and the argument it was Harris’s fault relies on granting the assumption that voters must act that way. It’s an internalization of consumer capitalism as a totalitarian ideology.
