The paradox is that those who understand force best are rarely eager to use it. They prepare for it. They plan for it. They master it. But they never become comfortable with it. If a president is becoming more knowledgeable about military power, that is a good thing. If he is becoming “comfortable” ordering it, that should give all of us pause—because too much comfort with the desire to use force is rarely a sign of wisdom.

Iran’s people were facing a horrible shortage of water before the war began. If we are destroying desalination plants and setting fire to Teheran we are committing unfathomable crimes.
One crazy dynamic that's developing is that Trump's need to demand "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER" probably provides an opening for the more bloodthirsty advisers to manipulate him by telling him more involvement is necessary to achieve the decisive victory he has blundered into promising

The media often treats Trump like some sort of Zelig-like character, a mere bystander in his own administration w/no agency or ability to shape decisions. It's really infuriating considering Biden and Obama were both expected to own everything going on in the country all the time.
