We’ve said this a lot lately, but it’s insane Fitz still has a job. Absolutely insane. Where are the owners of this team?

This team as currently constructed and coached is not a playoff team. I’ve mostly detached from them, but if they cross my mind, it irritates the hell out of me what Fitz has done to this team.

It hurts watching them. I’ll tune against the Isles if they win against CBJ. Gotta keep my distance from this team at this point.

This Devils team is hard to like. Their top players have never been the problem, but it seems like they caught the bug as well. That’s what bad management does to a team.

This has the beginning of a slide written all over it. They looked lost defensively. Especially the young Dmen. All the chances are coming from down low.

I mostly did not like the way the Devils played. In a 3-3 game, giving up a goal with about 2 min left is not how you get the good vibes going. I’ve been down on what Fitz has done more recently, so I might be a little cynical as of late. It’s just one game against a very consistent team.

They’re pushing likely democrat voters to vote independent or not at all. Trump is a Moron, but he leans into what their base wants and squeezes every vote they can out of the right. These old guard democrats care more about centrists who are less likely to vote democrat than their own base.

He’s a big guy. He looked great in college last year.

Specialty teams murdered the Devils in that series. It wasn’t so different 2 years ago in that series either.

He was given a 3-0 lead, and he mostly squandered it with some soft goals. He was phenomenal in OT, but let’s not forget why they ended up in OT instead of winning in regulation.

Yes, as a devils fan, that may be the only hockey joy I get tonight.

Mercer is definitely the most tradable. That’s tough though. He’s the only one of the 3 that could possibly have a higher ceiling. I think Palat has to be the guy, but how much retained? If L.Hughes gets $8mil, Palat opens ~$5mil, you only have ~$9mil to sign 2 bottom 6 and a top 6 fwd.

Feel the same way, but just don’t think it’ll happen.The $8mil in cap given to Kovacevic and Dillion hurts maybe more than the Palát contract. I didn’t realize how tight the devils are to the cap next year. A big contract needs to get moved if they’re looking to upgrade scoring depth.

Hopefully Fitz gets this right this offseason.

I’m hopeful Gritz can step in, but think Hameenaho will need a little time. I agree, need someone up there with Jack and 1 other depth guy would be great. If they can dump one contract, that would also be significant. Fitz has his work cut out for him.

2 bottom 6 forwards and a top 6 forward would make a huge difference. I think Fitz will try to fill those areas, but I’m not confident he will target the right type of player.

That effort gives me a sliver of hope, but a glass half empty guy would say that was their best possible effort. By the way, I didn’t miss Dillon at all today. That is a horrible contract.
