Really enjoyed that, thanks Chris. That Smurfs game looks good for the kids and would have completely passed me by.
Love it and my kids really enjoy it too mate, had a good time introducing them to it recently. Tough one to beat though, I'm not that great at it ๐

I can't believe the Saturn is 30 years old! I think this weekend I'll be dusting off the steering wheel and playing Sega Rally Championship and Daytona USA ๐
Ahh I was listening to Slipknot for the first time in a while today, ace :-)
Current status: Playing Death Stranding, I'm aiming to finish the main story before Christmas, I really love this game.
I'm currently working out what retro to console and game to play over the weekend... I'll share my decision tomorrow ๐ซก
Ha, nice, I haven't heard of this before. Amazing your DC still works so well
I'm planning a family games night where we play a selection of Xmas games this year. This has given me the perfect reason to pick up Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams for the Saturn ๐ We loved the original so can't wait to play this.
What other family friendly retro games could I pick up?
Totally agree!
Yeah, that's the one! I haven't played the prior games but I believe you played god in the older games but this one you are a priest with the desire to be god.
Populous game box with a PlayStation in the background
Today's game is Populous New Beginning (98). I used to love this game as a kid and I've been itching to play it again recently, I'm not sure why ๐
An RTS game, you play the role as a shaman trying to become a god. It's good fun, I was in awe for the 3D graphics when it first came out.

Excellent, thanks for the advice, appreciate it!
Sounds good! Do you need to play any of the prior games to really enjoy it? Been meaning to get into the series for a while...
I'm really enjoying it as well! And both the interviewees as so charismatic it makes the documentary really fun and interesting to watch alongside the game collection.
I think it might be time to dust off the Saturn before the week is out...
I also bought Christmas Nights Into Dreams off eBay today and I'm so excited for it to arrive, never played it but love the original ๐๐
Tetris Forever cover
I'm really enjoying the Tetris Forever documentary & game so far, it's really nicely done.
Playing the original version and the DOS version is pretty cool, amazing for their time really.
I really wish I still owned my Game Boy so I could play it in my bed tonight though, damn it!
๐
I love it here, it's so calming compared to that other hell site. Just hope it continues tbh ๐
๐
I'm exactly the same, countless hours spent - frustrating as hell but so good
I think I need to add completing it to my bucket list, it bothers that it's eluded me since I was a kid ๐
In Forgotten Worlds too!
Thanks mate. Enjoy the weekend, let's hope it doesn't go too quickly ๐
Today's game is Cannon Fodder (1993), a Mega Drive port.
Originally released on the Amiga, this is honestly one of my favourite games of all time. I love the art style, gameplay & the variety of levels (skidoos anyone?) and who could forget the theme tune?! Classic.

Thanks mate! Yeah, the Amiga has a very special place in my heart with it being by first computer. Hopefully I'll pick up some more games for the collection soon. Hope you're good mate!
I managed to pick up Cannon Fodder for the Mega Drive a few weeks ago so I'm going to get stuck into that like the good ol' days! Will share it later ๐
My current game room setup, my happy place ๐
