Hopefully the coming fossil fuel shocks will speed the transition to locally sourced renewable energy.
We have solar panels and a geothermal heat exchanger in northeast Ohio. We heat and cool our house with electricity from the sun, and still get paid for surplus electricity. We just bought an EV, so we might add another solar panel. Feels great.
It’s hard not to come to the conclusion that these are deranged people who believe they have unlimited power.

Trump has fully shattered the world we all grew up in. It’s a dramatic break from how things worked before, even compared to the Iraq War and other misadventures - the United States abruptly tumbling over a cliff and becoming literally more reckless and domineering than Putin’s Russia.
It really burns me up how schools treat sick absences as a moral failure. Eugenics is so baked into our society that it is basically invisible to people who are healthy.
Besides, schools with their poorly ventilated classrooms are the primary culprit. The problem isn’t the children.
