ChatGPT - Alkaloids and Evolution Misconceptions Shared by Alexandre Sole via ChatGPT

"Alkaloids are chemicals that plants have developed as weapons of survival"
Kenneth Kamler (Surviving the Extremes, 2004)

Here's why I don't accept such a statement (and neither should you): chatgpt.com/share/6793d9...

Don't try to understand everything [when you're not yet fluent], just try to get the general idea, or some sense of what is being said/written.

It's proven to be SUCH A GOOD piece of advice, I still apply it with all the new #languages I'm learning.

Fluency in #English helps and has helped immensely in my professional career.

A good command of #French is also often useful, as well as some knowledge of #German and #Italian.

Studying #Turkish & #Arabic is not essential, but it's a great bonus that can really impress my boss(es). πŸ’ͺ🏻

Icy Moons in Our Solar System That May Have Oceans Now Scientists think six icy moons in our solar system may currently host oceans of liquid water beneath their outer surfaces.

Why my 'moonsofice' handle❔ Because I find the intriguing icy #moons (moons of ice) of the #SolarSystem fascinating.

Some of these moons have a strong potential to harbor #life under their icy crust: www.jpl.nasa.gov/images/pia26...

Today I've picked a 1994 #neurobiology book at the faculty library, and the first page of the Introduction has made me laugh.

My first contact with such a dense & imposing subject and the author, Gordon M. Shepherd (1933-2022), makes me laugh. I'm impressed! πŸ‘πŸ»

Why is the sky blue? Clear skies above the Royal Observatory in Greenwich make for a fantastic view – but why is the sky blue?

Since we are in the #Bluesky community, you might want to know why the #sky is #blue.

Because yes, there is a reason, it's called Rayleigh #scattering of #light:
