THIS IS SO TRUE and yet the reason I was anticipating arknights' release back in 20..19... was seeing the voice acting. had no idea the story wouldn't be voiced and I think it's part of why I stop associating them with their VAs as much as charas in other series BUT fuuuuck

if you ever want to get into FGO I will push you to every resource known to mankind for you to read or watch a video of the story though because #sixsevenuinely I've been into it for years and I do love the story to death the lostbelts are in the peak of gacha fiction imo.

THE SKILL MATERIALS ARE THE SAME FOR ALL 3 SKILLS SO WHEN YOU NEED 29 OF SOME ITEM THAT DOESN'T EVEN 100% DROP FROM A STAGE YUOU ACTUALLY NEED LIKE 80 OF THEM it's so torturous holy shit. also they only added a spark in like 2022

oh my god I could make an entire list of every reason not to play FGO and I think the biggest one to date is the lack of an auto play or skip. you have to HAND FARM those materials if there isn't an event with the piece you want/you don't have pure prisms (unlikely at first) and it's LIKE.

at least the lack of super expressive sprite work, visual storytelling, or voice acting means you can easily read it on the internet if you're not fortunate enough to have been playing it for years (this is me saying if you ever considered getting into FGO just read it and don't suffer my fate

you know what I thought the arcadion would have me conditioned to "peak fiction without voice acting" (story text) but when I read fate grand order I just sit here like "fuuuuuuck you are a gacha investing in premium seiyuu and your story isn't voiced" fuuuuuck
