he then blamed the completely-predicted-by-every-engineer chaos on the devops guy who wrote the pipeline he forced us to replace
also the whole burnout thing
i more or less lost any meaningful ability to make decisions, because my decisions generally aligned with listening to the other engineers instead of hiring more of his friends, and i was about to become his next patsy for the problems he was directly creating, so i left too
he was the ceo's buddy and basically lied and manipulated constantly and slowly replaced everyone who raised concerns (the competent people) with a cheap contractor who he was probably getting a cut from
this of course crushed morale and then everyone else couldn't leave fast enough
vindication feels good tho
that whole process burned me out so bad. it's been over a year and i still have not recovered my ability to emotionally connect with my work in a meaningful way.
yesterday i learned that the manager that destroyed my team and stole my project from me at my last job (i was tech lead) was fired for incompetence lmao
