This might be a hot take, but if you don't want games to be overtaken by AI slop, you have to choose not to play games that spotlight it.
Companies don't care that you wag your finger, they care that you withhold your money and attention.
Sorry for the lack of new episodes. For a variety of reasons, we're going on hiatus for the winter. Looking to recharge, recalibrate, and return in the spring.
This is unexpected, but cool. Would be interested to see Atari continue down this path of salvaging obscure games and giving them new life.
I hope Retroid sues him back into the oblivion he usually occupies.
Do I happen to know anybody who has experience in video editing, loves video games and gaming history, and would be interested in launching a YouTube channel with me?
If you aren't that person, but know someone who might be, please pass it along. DM's are open to discuss.
They're donors to this enshittification of the East Wing with that gaudy, gilded ballroom. They're not commenting because they can't bite the hand.
The PS2 is 25 in America today. I have a weird relationship with it. It came out a year before I moved across the country. During its lifespan, I got married, went to school, and had twins. I didn’t play much on it, so I don’t have a lot of connection to it.
Yes, you keep posting this. Explain, please.
Don’t know who that is or what that means.
Not sure what you mean by that.
Buying ActiBlizz might end up being the worst move X-Box ever made, for them and the industry.
But we know money is an issue with all but a select few. And in that case, I think it makes more sense to spend more to have a chance at making more on a platform that isn’t in a constant state of self-immolation.
Not saying what you said isn’t true. But if I’m a smaller dev and I can spend $10K for a PS5 kit or $2K for XB, I’d rather take my shot at a bigger target, especially one that doesn’t look like it’s committed to a course of self-sabotage.
Not saying it is a beeline. But I am saying the pool of potential customers (for consoles) is larger. And right now, XB has nothing but bad press lately. It’s just one more thing to make it look like jumping aboard a sinking ship.
But PS5 outsells XSX by current estimates 3/1. There’s a larger pool of potential customers to make back that up-front cost on PlayStation. XB is smaller, they’re increasingly consumer-hostile, and now the profit margin for a new dev has gotten smaller.
The genericized use of "AI" as a marketing buzzword for generative AI is doing so much discourse damage especially among a certain generations of the least tech savvy people to ever be exposed to technology regularly. That's the power of words on an illiterate society, baybee
Part 2 of a deep-dive into the Evolution of #Mario w/special guest @erikslader.bsky.social is up! #gaming #videogames #nintendo
New episode! @erikslader.bsky.social guest hosts with @streetsajed.bsky.social to discuss the evolution of #Mario. Part 1 covers his beginnings in Donkey Kong through the games of the N64. #videogames #gaming #Nintendo
Due to circumstances beyond control, today's planned episode has been postponed until next Monday. Sorry, friends.
Two price hikes on the console in a year, and now increasing the cost of Game Pass.
Are they TRYING to kill the brand?
One of the worst companies in gaming forms a Voltron of crap by selling to Jared Kushner's private equity group and the Saudi investment fund. This is only going to get more terrible for the industry.

So, the game is fine, it works well, it's just the user's problem, but it's also so bad, the Switch 2 version is delayed until TBA. Gearbox is something special.
New episode, and we’re talking about the best and worst controllers to come with the console. #videogames #gaming #atari #nintendo #sega #xbox #playstation
I'm not one for custom controllers, but this is awesome.
Randy Pitchford is incapable of communicating without being a smug, insufferable douche.
One of the coolest video game preservation stories I have ever covered arstechnica.com/gaming/2025/...
Promoting my own! We look at the history of video games, going one console generation at a time on a topic. Just dropped a new episode today!
