Train was jam packed and that wasn't even at rush hour. I don't know how people do it every day
I live in Kildare and was in Dublin yesterday for a coffee meet, but had to allow 2 hours on either side for travel because public transport is so sketchy and I ultimately had to get a train home because 2 buses didnβt turn up which meant getting someone to drive 20km to pick me up from the station

Cover art for NIRA by Thomas Sniegoski and Jeannine Ascherson. showing an exotic female presenting person in an old fashioned pub, lit by candle and lantern light. They are surrounded by disturbing creatures (but they have a glass of whiskey) A fox/raven hybrid creature is perched on their shoulder.
Books are one of the things that stand between us and the abyss.

Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM
Uninstalling ChatGPT and using Claude isnβt the flex you think it is. Itβs still AI, itβs still slop, youβre still outsourcing your brain.

Continuously variable: clock shifts every midnight so that local sunrise is always at 6:30am. No need to waste light before that.
We keep our clocks at the same time, but move our homes and businesses 171 kilometers east

obviously, my mam had no idea what this woman's financial situation was, but transferring (a non-transferrable!!!) all day family bus ticket to another person was just what you did
so many good, quiet things happen every day, all the time, and 99% of people are inherently good
when we were kids, my brothers and i were on the bus with my mam and we had a family day ticket (we'd been at the sea) and as we got off at the bus stop, my mam handed the ticket to a woman laden with three kids and bags of shopping and i'll never forget the look of absolute joy on the woman's face
Any union worth its salt would vote to strike over these unacceptable conditions
