Wow. With all precincts reporting—but some provisional and absentee ballots left to count—North Carolina Senate President Phil Berger is losing the GOP primary in NC SD-26 by TWO VOTES.

There are certainly more than 300 trans people in Kansas, so is this only the ones who have changed their gender markers on their licenses, or who have only done so in a specific way?
it's 2016: north carolina introduces a bill to ban trans people from using bathrooms safely. there's a national outcry; companies withdraw business up to and including the NCAA cancelling a publicized game. the bill fails.
it's 2026: kansas passes a law nullifying trans people's licenses. crickets.

• 43% of transgender people have considered moving to a different state, compared to 25% of all LGBTQ people. • And, 9% of transgender people report they've actually moved to a different state since November 2024, as have 5% of all LGBTQ people.
NEARLY 1 IN 10 TRANSGENDER PEOPLE REPORT MOVING TO A NEW STATE As shown in Figure 1, nearly one in 10 (9%) transgender adults in the survey have moved to a different state due to LGBTQ-related laws or politics, as have 5% of LGBTQ adults. Again, given that the survey only covered a relatively short time frame of November 2024 to June 2025, this is a remarkable impact.
Not to fully dispute these numbers, but I’m wondering about the sample size here. Even from 1,055 LGBTQ adults, 111 trans/nonbinary adults feels small to extrapolate to “nearly 1 out of every 10 trans adults has moved states.” I don’t think the survey text itself extrapolates as much as the image.
