I am wondering that too, but this is the first time we’ve experienced this with art in the district. My 8th grader only reports using AI twice in their entire education (one for an ai unit which make sense) never in art. It honestly feels more like laziness and missed opportunities to develop skills

Second time my kiddo reported the art teacher REQUIRING students to use Canva AI to create a starter image for an art project....

I've emailed the teacher asking for justification on this. Have LOTS I want to say. grrrrr....😅

Generative AI has no place in a child's art classroom. What value are we placing on art when we have children use AI during the creation process? What message are we sending children on their capability to create something from nothing if we start the process with AI? 😤

I've exceeded 400 lifetime short story rejections. Wow! That's a lot of times I've put myself out there and have been told no, but it hasn't stopped me yet! Rejections are inevitable when submitting your work. Celebrating them eases the sting, so I think I'm going to get myself a little treat today.
