In less than a week, the #ElsPorts mountain range near Tortosa, on the west side of the large river Ebre (Catalonia), has endured two extreme events: a 3,300 ha #wildfire, followed by #torrential rainfall (100 mm/day) in the #riucanaletes watershed... All of this is visible from space.

Announcement of projection of documentary "Salbia, a salinity threat to the river Gambia" during the EGU25 conference in Vienna. This will take place 1st of May 2025, 18:10, room E1 at the Conference Center.
We went to the #Gambia to evidence how rising salinity in the river is affecting both local communities and the ecosystem, and @milevafilms.bsky.social made a documentary about it.
It will be shown for the first time to the public next week at @egu.eu #egu25.
