European Movement UK has launched a petition calling for the UK to join the EU single market. Six years outside our largest trading partner has meant more barriers, more costs and lost growth for British businesses. It is time to repair the damage. Sign the petition and demand a reset with Europe. Sign the petition.
Today, European Movement UK have launched our petition calling for the UK to join the single market. Europe is the largest trading bloc in the world, and joining the single market would remove barriers to trade, support growth of British businesses and strengthen cooperation with Europe.

Today marked the completion of the highly successful CONNECTS-UK @connects-uk.bsky.social project, which brought together several European research diaspora organisations in the UK, including @finscisocuk.bsky.social. It created a solid basis on which our co-operation will continue.

Sadiq Khan: My ultimate goal is to reverse Brexit. London Mayor believes it will happen in his lifetime and wants to rejoin single market in meantime. 9 February.
A recent poll by Opinium, commissioned by European Movement UK, found that 75% of Britons favour joining the Single Market to lower taxes. Rejoining would be a practical step towards economic renewal and a more confident role in the world - we must act soon to prevent any more damage to the country.

Dan OβBrien, chief economist at the Institute of International and European Affairs, says it cleanly. Britain is weaker outside the EU, and Europe is weaker without Britain, and Brexit has handed advantage to the bullies who see allies as leverage.

The UK cannot build our security on unpredictability - our safest and most stable path forward lies with our European neighbours. Full statement is linked below.

This is exciting. Heavy ion collisions generate the strongest magnetic fields in the Universe in which magnetic monopoles could be produced by the dual Schwinger mechanism (see doi.org/10.1103/Phys...). There are now three experiments searching for them at the LHC: MoEDAL-MAPP, ATLAS, and ALICE.

Freedom of movement is always discussed in terms of immigration, but ending it had a much bigger effect on emigration: The number of British citizens moving abroad (to any country) fell by nearly 50%. #Brexit

Sure, but complaining about this proposal is not helping. It just makes it easier for the UK government to keep rejecting it.
