Meh. It’s a shame but I’ll have to take my chances with Wattpad. I’ll definitely be putting a big ‘MINORS DNI’ label on the work because of how younger the community seems compared to ao3.

This is all just to say I have a serial in the works I’m working on alongside the novel!

Then you get into the whole issue of monetisation (I.e. uploading work earlier for subscribers before making it public), which Ao3 seems to be staunchly against in any forms. Props for avoiding ambiguity I guess but eventually pivoting to that is something I care a lot about 🤷‍♀️

I’ve decided that personally fanfic isn’t for me - mostly because I have more original ideas than ideas based on other works. Problem is, Wattpads community seems less into out-there kinks compared to Ao3, as well as more invested in second-person self insert works, which I don’t care for at all.

Kinda worried about publishing on Ao3.
The tagging systems are amazing, and the exposure it gives is almost worth uploading work there. Buuuuut from what it looks like their policy on original works seems kinda all over the place and somewhat arbitrarily enforced. Idk man…

Listen okay if hanging out the whole sheath and it looks real cold then go for it but I just can’t see anybody taking that at 3 in the morning with no prep. Monsterfuckers are very powerful tho so perhaps!
