Had a wonderful experience at the University of #WrocΕawβs Summer School on #Holocaust literature & film.
Incredibly well-organized w/ thoughtful lectures, engaging workshops, a visit to #Gross-Rosen concentration camp & time in #Jewish WrocΕaw at the old synagogue & dinner at Jewish restaurants
The next #Stolpersteine in #Jersey are for Jean and Marcel Rossi, deported for refusing to work for the Germans and having Italian ancestry. They experienced #Gross-Rosen, #Blechhammer and #Hersbruck concentration camps. Marcel died on a forced march.
After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesnβt like.

Recently visited the Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre.
I really enjoyed the focus on pre-war Jewish life, including sports, music, & other cultural activities, as well as the exhibitionβs effort to explain Judaism & Jewish customs through ritual objects.
