Mine put no thought into it at all until I was born, then named me after a character from (then) Emmerdale Farm. I did ask once if they had a girl's name in mind, but they had nothing.

My middle name is just my dad's forename, which is lovely for someone with daddy issues to have to carry.

I made us apple crumble for pudding today and, even though I say so myself, it turned out beautifully. Demerara sugar in the crumble and some raisins in with the apple. Bird's custard. Not gonna lie, I got all teary eyed as it was just like my Mum's from when I was a kid. Silly.

Oh, and the two rows of DC between the last increase row and first decrease row should have been 120 stitches, but they are 133 stitches, so I have really made a bit of a sizable bish in there somewhere.

I have no clue what has gone wrong and I'm about ready to put it aside and forget about it.

there was only room for a decrease and slip stitch into the chain three I started the row with. I frogged it and did it again with the same result, then tried doing 7 between the decreases, but that just lead to five stitches at the rows end.

I don't know what I've done, but I have somehow buggered the beret up. I did ten increase rows, followed by two rows of DC. Now I'm on the first decrease row, which should be the decrease followed by 8 DC, but I got to the end of the row and instead of there being a decrease & 8 stitches

Finland's ridiculously high customs duty. The Nordic online bookshop we use doesn't always carry the books that I want, and when it does they are often just as expensive as ordering from UK with postage on top. And money is really tight these days that books (& DVDs/BRs) are a birthday/Xmas treat.
