You can get the HPV vaccine for kids (boys and girls) as young as 9. You have to ask, but our pediatrician didn't need any more reason than "We're big believers in vaccines and we'd like him to get it as soon as possible."
I miss the foooood
Ooo, thank you! I bookmarked that korma recipe and if you find the fufu one, I'd love that too!
Where is our collective outrage that weβre being harmed in healthcare settings?
Patients shouldnβt have to risk preventable infection that can result in death, disability, lost work time, harm to infected loved ones, &c.
As a HCW & patient, I want universal & permanent n95s in healthcare settings.
If you find success with a korma recipe with no tomatoes, could you please share? That is my absolute favorite and my MCAS hates tomatoes. Sometimes I ride it out, but my itching and GI stuff are getting worse π Wishing you luck!! (Cashews are okay for me, but walnuts and hazelnuts are my nemeses!)
Please teach your parents and grandparents that ChatGPT isn't an authority?! I'm in the waiting room at a big cancer institute and overheard an older person explaining to a nurse that "ChatGPT told me to take this medicine at this time of day..." even though the actual instructions say differently π±
We canβt comply our way out of fascism any more than we can ignore our way out of a pandemic.
ICE is a tool of fascism. So are unmitigated pandemics & the people who wonβt wear an n95. So are anti-trans laws & those who want to delay trans liberation. So are genocides & those who ignore them.
From your mouth to the universe's ears π
Test as much as you can, mask, HEPA filters, crack a window!
I'm so curious to hear if anyone in South Korea has used the LG Electronics MediPain MSP1 device. It was made to stimulate the c fibers to relieve small fiber neuropathy pain. It looks like they're not produced anymore, but may be available used in SK?

A knit peach, teal, and white kitten with black eyes resting on an American Airlines seat tray.
This is my friend's cat. Its name is Cookie Swirl, and it disappeared in the American section of Charlotte airport on 11/10. We're asking for your help. She doesn't have any other socials, so if you can post it widely to see if anyone knows where it is. It's a little thing, but matters a lot to her.
Positive Covid-19 result for a patient this morning - reasons abound to mask in health care
Patient came in with sore throat. While waiting for rapid Strep test result we glanced back at the Covid-19 RAT result: positive. Reminder that masking in health care makes sense, if you donβt want everyone in your waiting room to go home sick, your staff to get sick, and physicians to get sick.
We white folks need to come right out and say, not just defund ICE, but ABOLISH ICE.
We should not have these jackbooted thugs abducting people off the streets and abusing them in illegal concentration camps.
It makes it unusable!! I'm so mad about this.
It's like "comfortability" IT'S JUST COMFORT!! COMFORT!! Ughhhhdsdddsddd
When Ezra Klein of all people says the Dems are losing by compromising, you KNOW you fucked up
What happens to disabled people WILL ALWAYS happen to you.
I love this. I have hated that in the past few years it has felt like American flags are reserved for Republicans. Fuck that shit, this is our country too.
I donβt do the disability advocacy thing out loud as much anymore, but being at school this week had me thinking about the way well-meaning abled people move to help and what actually helps.
This is not shaming anyone. But I appreciate when folks who do instinctually help move intentionally. π§΅
Shout-out Big Mike at the Keene, NH Pride Festival who manhandled my wheelchair tire back into the rim it had yeeted itself off of - may your pillow always be cool. π³οΈβπππ₯°

There is a kind of mouse that has been bred over decades to be suitable for skin cancer research. They are *ridiculously* expensive. They're also living animals. You have to feed them and clean their enclosures and take care of them, or they die.
I do this even for our smallest local conference. It's the right (and not *that difficult*) thing to do!
If weβre going to make any progress, weβve got to quit engaging with the pretext. The DC invasion isnβt about crime, is about authoritarianism. Occupying LA isnβt about immigration, itβs about the racial hierarchy. Stop engaging with the phony pretext.
...great...
We just learned about a 3rd dimension of how Covid can affect our arteries.

Oooo, I was just looking for some new, good historical romance recs!
NEW: Scientists made a sugar-coated nanoparticle that blocks the SARS-CoV-2 virus from binding to human cells β cutting infection in lab tests by ~99%.

β[service or place] is not wheelchair accessibleβ in 2025 is going to make me lose whatever shreds of calm I had left.
Looking at you, Europe, and your oh-so-sophisticated public transit.
