Good Law Project had backed an intervention so trans people were before the Supreme Court. The day it was rejected was the most depressing day I have ever experienced as a lawyer.
Not only were trans people not allowed to represent ourselves: of the four submissions the court allowed, three were from anti-trans groups, including both the oral submissions.
The UK Supreme Court has unanimously decided that the definition of sex under the Equality Act 2010 refers solely to biological sex, and does not include people with a Gender Recognition Certificate.
