The children kept in Texas are as young as 13, and about half are pregnant because of rape, according to a joint investigation by the Texas Newsroom and the California Newsroom. In Texas, abortion is banned in nearly all circumstances, including rape and incest.

We made it to hubby’s biometric appointment and everything went fine. They had an ICE agents waiting in the office and a cage in the corner. There was also plywood doors over the office space next door that I am not 100% sure isn’t another place to detain people. Fuck Trump, fuck Republicans.

Hubby and I have finished moving into a new house with 2 friends. One stressor down. On the 30th, hubby has his second biometrics screening from USCIS and I’m nervous as hell. Please pray for us, send good vibes, whatever you can send our way in hopes of this going well. We’re living in scary times.

Has anyone been able to identify the “if you raise your voice, I erase your voice” agent?

Because that’s someone who, for public safety, should be named and identified and warned about.

This morning ICE attempted to enter into the Ecuadorian consulate on Central Ave but were barred from entering. I spoke with Ambassador Yanez this afternoon and they want to make sure the Ecuadorian community knows it’s still safe to come to the consulate.

Really hard to look at this and all the other examples of bravery and kindness from ordinary people in this moment not think also of the tremendous cowardice exhibited over the past year by some of the richest, most well-protected people in business, media and politics

As we work to combat the Right-wing smear campaigns against Renee Good and Alex Pretti, I hope we'll also think of the countless others--disproportionately people marginalized by racism--who have been vilified to justify state violence and abuse, and who haven't had legions come to their defense.

So in other words, they're totally fine with executing a lesbian mom of three in front of her wife. But a (presumably?) straight white man? THAT'S freaking them out.
