Hey all! I was wondering if anyone can provide some suggestions!

I am looking for species of birds that have
- Brightly coloured plumage on their face
- Neutral coloured plumage elsewhere

I have attached some examples of what I mean! (King Eider Duck, Cabot's Tragopan, Greater Bluebonnet, Verdin)

What does this mean?

My brain: “what if unicorns being white are a product of decade long selective breeding which messed up their brains and there’s an illegal ring of Sphinx ownership because they have higher intelligence/can speak and also sphinxes are mad about it”

I’m slowlybut surely working on some specbio art of how I interpret unicorns and sphinxes (the latter of which has OCs) and it’s gradually becoming a vent for my strong opinions on the exotic pet trade and how animals are bred for traits that are desirable for humans but detrimental for their health

Art server I'm part of has recently started a weekly "gijinka design challenge" which I'm super excited about! Here's my contribution to the first prompt - fish lures. A fish lure shaped like a fish is an uncanny idea - thus, Leatherface, except pirahna themed.

(I'm watching every winner of the Worst Picture award as appointed by the Golden Raspberries, originally to try and analyse why each movie is so bad, but I'm 8 movies in out of 48 and feel Pain).

And I appreciate the heads up! 💗💗 I can usually handle gore if I'm prepared for it (aka know that the film contains it), I just draw a hard line at "films" that are just "woman tortured for 90 mins"

I am a little sad I haven't drawn much this year, but I'm not gonna be hard on myself because it's been a busy and hard one - who knows what I would have drawn without these games? And it represents something I'm passionate about - being part of a community in these hard times

Reposting some art here as I'm realising the bulk of what I've made artistically this year has been contributions to art games, which I'm not complaining about as it 1. got me to draw at all and 2. pushed me out my comfort zones!

I missed doing Letterboxd Fridays!

As it's October I'm watching a lot of horror films.

There's several layers of irony because "HAHA look at me making reaction images out of one of the most devastating & horrific films ever made! I shall Immediately push the barn scene from my mind to make the child soldier look like he's offering you a joint" and you laught @ them bc "holy shit man"

Anyway I've watched almost all of Martin McDonagh's films here are my bitesized reviews:

In Bruges: pretty good
Seven Psycopaths: juvenile and kinda a mess
Three Billboards: absolute and complete tripe
Banshees of Inisherin: just okay but could have been great

I have like 6 edits of the screenshot on my phone where it's faceapp'd lmaooooo

I'm getting back into watching films again which is so nice, but ONCE AGAIN I get sooooo self-conscious writing my gay little reviews on Letterboxd against my friends who have films logged in the thousands, despite the fact they're basically a glorified diary entry for me. Don't judge me friends!!!!

I’m complaining for the sake of complaining tbh, I’m literally sat at my local cinema’s bar right now awaiting a burger and then I’m gonna go see One Battle After Another in an hour! Hugely preferable to the past July/August where I was worried about whether I could afford food for my pets/myself
