1. School systems across the United States are declaring they will not comply with Trump's anti-trans executive order.
MCPS, Maryland said they will fiercely protect their teacher sand students.
Columbus City Public Schools president: "bring it on."

Years ago, ACT UP protested at hospitals cutting off LGBTQ+ people from their care.
They didn't stand for it.
1. The EEOC acting chair, Andrea Lucas, has announced that a private business transgender bathroom ban is her top priority.
This comes in the wake of a slew of anti-trans executive orders.

Today I spoke against Montanaβs House Bill 121. I stood with so many other opponents to this bill, and despite knowing this bill is more likely to be passed then rejected, I am proud of my community. I am so proud to be trans.
1. Breaking News: Donald Trump has signed an executive order targeting trans youth and teachers in schools who teach for them.
It goes after "social transition" and threatens arrests.
I will go through line by line, as I have the last 3 nights.
Find the EO here:

So we have the answer for one question people were asking... people's gender markers are being changed back even for renewals, if they had an existing passport in a different gender even as a kid:

On day one Trump's EO said we were harmful to kids. On day two, it said we were dishonorable and disloyal. On day three, it said we were unAmerican.
Transgender people have been a part of this country for centuries.
We are not going anywhere.
Do not comply with these EOs, they are not law.
This is the biggest danger of Trump's EOs.
They are not law, and yet Denver Health is complying in advance, ending all trans surgeries under 19 years of age, including chest masculinization - a rare, but much needed surgery for some trans teens.

Just released memorandum from OPM:
Federal facilities will now have a bathroom ban for transgender people.
It will go into effect on the 31st.
It also has a slew of effects and puts into place the 1st anti-trans EO policies for every agency.
This will have a ton of impacts very quickly.
This is my favorite picture of Stonewall.
They knew they were getting arrested just for being LGBTQ+.
Yet... they're still here, standing outside of the boarded up Stonewall Inn, smiling as the world was at a fever pitch of hatred against them.
I think about it a lot in moments like this.

Stay informed, stay aware. My trans siblings, take a moment for yourself, its okay to take a step away when this all feels too much. Live to see another day, because that is what matters. I will never stop finding joy in being trans, because it is beautiful, and we will persevere through this
Bills that become laws like this create harmful rhetoric that trans people are groomers. When the βDonβt Say Gayβ law passed in Florida, this untrue narrative increased on social media by 400%. This creates a hostility against trans people that can cost lives
1% of the American population is transgender. So why are we the subjects of so many anti-trans bills? More bills are coming through nationwide. This is dangerous and something that needs to be taken seriously by queer allies. Erin Reed is a wonderful source to stay informed on anti-trans legislation
Suicide rates for trans people increase drastically when unable to access gender-affirming care, which is truly life-saving for many
SB 164 is focusing on criminalizing those who help trans youth access gender-affirming care, physicians, parents, and guardians could all face legal repercussions. Trans healthcare should not be criminalized, and those providing it should not be faced with legal action
Trans people experience being the victims of a crime 4 times more often then their cisgender peers. 50% of trans people are victims of sexual assault. Forcing trans people to use bathrooms of their assigned sex at birth puts them at risk of serious harm. It forces them into unsafe situations
HB 300 being heard tomorrow, January 31st, will ban trans athletes from sports, and their preferred locker rooms. When you force trans students to use the bathrooms of their assigned sex at birth, 25.9% report being sexually assaulted
House Bill 121 in the State of Montana is being heard today (Jan. 30), a bill forcing trans people to use the bathroom of their assigned sex at birth. This will force trans people into unsafe situations. I will be testifying, but more anti-trans bills are coming up in MT

Artwork of a Stegosaurus gleefully bounding after a monarch butterfly. The Stegosaurus has orange and black patterning that matches the butterfly and the plates on its back look like monarch wings.
"Butterfly Effect" is by far my favorite piece I've ever drawn. I know I keep sharing it, but I just hope it brings joy when people see it.
(Plus I don't have a whole lot of new art to share.)

A digital drawing of an early horse Mesohippus, that lived 37 to 32 million years ago. Just a small and fluffy horse creature against the dark background. There's a single star shining above mesohippus. The creature itself is light brown with some lighter, almost white parts on the neck, belly, head and legs as well. It also has some little stripes on the legs (almsot similar to those that some wild donkeys have). The mane is stiff and stands straight. There's a slight gradient on the body - from the head (grey) to the tail (more saturated light brown).
finished mesohippus. really happy with how it turned out, and learned a lot in the process
