A large digital board on the Outernet building displays a message: “Mayor of London. CHAMPION WOMEN. RESPECT WOMEN. BELIEVE WOMEN. Stand with women, today and every day.” The building features a tall vertical gold-toned architectural facade and people are walking and cycling along the busy London street underneath it.

Tram and bus fares: frozen until July 2026.

This is the seventh freeze I have delivered, with the biggest benefit for Londoners on the lowest incomes in our city.

Great to be in central London last night with @rachelblakemp.bsky.social @adamhug.bsky.social & HOLBA highlighting @mayoroflondon.bsky.social's new pedicab regulations.

Our new rules include safety checks, licensing & fair pricing -ensuring pedicabs will be a safe, green & fun way to enjoy London.

A really welcome initiative from Sadiq that builds on the progress made with last year's surge in police numbers in the West End, which has helped start to turn the tide on crime in the area and assisted in reducing abstractions across Westminster.

From today, Transport for London is introducing regulations to crack down on rogue pedicab operators

Good news for residents across the Cities of London and Westminster who have endured the noise and disruption of pedicabs for far too long!

Wishing all the best to everyone marking the start of Ramadan and Lent and those celebrating Chinese New Year. Great that in Westminster we celebrate all three and in many households more than one of them.

'Giving Leaseholders Real Power Over Their Homes Is A Historic Step' Writing for HuffPost UK, Labour MP Rachel Blake welcomes the government's new reforms.

From Pimlico to Paddington, from the City to St Johns Wood, leaseholders have waited far too long for a system that works for them.

Labour's Bill cuts their costs, gives them real control over their homes, and sets the path to end leasehold for good.

'A national project to turn the tide': Government unveils £15bn Warm Homes Plan Long-awaited plan aims to help millions of families to cut energy bills by installing solar panels, batteries, heat pumps, and insulation

This will get massively overshadowed today and as ever the devil is in the detail, but is should be one of the best things Labour has done. It has the potential to improve the lives and finances of millions of people.

London’s murder rate drops to lowest in more than a decade Sadiq Khan says ‘public health’ approach has made the capital one of the safest cities in the western world

The homicide rate for under-25s is now 3x lower than it was when I set up the VRU in 2019, and hospital admissions of young people for knife assault have almost halved in the same period.

London is safer thanks to the prevention work of @london-vru.bsky.social.

I don’t comment much on international issues these days but the courage of the Iranian people is only matched by the cruelty and violence of the regime. Horrific scenes.

Every Londoner deserves a safe and secure home.

I am committed to ending rough sleeping by 2030 and providing support to get people off the streets. By working with London Councils, government and experts we can make resources available to prevent homelessness early.

Also really good to see lots of new action on cracking down on dodgy shops that harm highstreets, defraud local people and the taxpayer.
