Thanks for that. Funnily enough both those songs are featured in my book 'The Train Kept A-Rollin'' about the history of the train song genre, published a few years back. Well worth reading, even if I say so myself!

My piece in today's Daily Express on punk turning 50, complete with my choice of top five punk songs. It's subjective, of course it is, but what would your choice be?

Strange yet true. The opening sounds heard on the Style Council's second album 'Our Favourite Shop' were recordings made at London's Victoria station by sound engineer Jeremy Murray-Wakefield (although Jeremy has since cited the station as Waterloo, the sounds prove otherwise).

On this day in 1957 Bill Haley arrived at Southampton Docks and travelled by rail to London's Waterloo station. The train was one big party & the lineside packed with people the entire way. Day zero, year zero of the rest of our rock & roll lives, certainly from a UK perspective.
