Imagine the impact this would have on your family, your ability to work. We hear teachers shouting that they aren’t baby sitting services, how do teacher/ parent work? Because their kids are mainly in school. The long term impact on our families is devastating on multiple levels. You see us yet?

Stock black and white ai image of a young child sitting with their head in their knees. You cannot see their face and their head is obscured by a hood on their jacket. They have a school bag by their side and they are sitting in front of a large ominous brick wall. The text reads 223000 neurodivergent children and young people in Scotland can’t access their legal right to an education.
International woman’s day. What I will say is that if 223000 neurotypical kids were not able to access school and primarily men were impacted , forced into caregiving. This would not be happening. Been an awful weekend for autistic women and girls in particular.
Please share/ parents and carers and neurodivergent young people required.

Black and white ai image of 5 children and young people who are struggling or not in school. They are all showing visible signs of distress. The writing says 223000 mainly neurodivergent children and young people are not in school or are on very part time timetables in Scotland.
Even though it’s the weekend. Children and young people and their parent:carers are negatively impacted by exclusion. The kids can’t go anywhere, they are worried about missing work, losing friends, being judged. They are judged by education, teachers, attendance campaigns and their peers.

Your daily reminder that “ ghost” children and young people have parents/carers and extended families. 223000 children in Scotland aren’t able to access education, not won’t go to school. We don’t need parenting classes schools need to change or these numbers will continue to rise. #asn #exclusion

Stock Ai image in black and white representing 223000 mainly neurodivergent children and young people out of school in Scotland or they are on part time timetables, inclusion with a question mark.
Daily reminder of the numbers of children and young people who aren’t able to impact education in Scotland. The impact is devastating on them, their life chances and their parent carers. It increases the attainment gap and increases health inequalities. Ghost children are real people. See us.

This is so true
Happy Weird Pride Day to all who celebrate!
I'm really happy with how it's coming together so far. I hope we'll see a good few people posting bits of writing and videos and things today, too, besides the things I've directly organised myself (with help from many others)...

223000 children missing school because their needs aren’t met. Black and white AI image of 5 children and young people showing visible signs of distress, covering ears and faces, ends with inclusion?
Your daily reminder that inclusion isn’t a desk in a mainstream class. It’s spaces, support and ways of working that allows children and young people to feel safe and belong. 223000 children and young people are saying this isn’t working. Can you hear them? #asn #inclusion

Daily reminder that this morning 223,000 mainly neurodivergent children and young people in Scotland aren’t able to access a quality education. Disabled by design. The impact on their parent:carers, siblings, extended families is devastating. That’s a lot of voters.

Daily reminder that the number of fluctuating children and young children who mainly are neurodivergent is 223,000. This isn’t inclusion. UNCRC offering no legal protection. Scotlands children deserve better. The impact is devastating on their futures, health and wellbeing and their families.
Statement in blue and white with green quotation marks. It simply says we are asked to collude in it when we aren’t included either.
A slide from NASWUIT union presenting to the committee pinned above. While we applaud neurodivergent teachers being asked their opinion and we thank them for their honesty. Please think about this statement below. Inclusion isn’t happening, hence the 223, 000 mainly neurodivergent kids missing out.
