bsky.app/profile/joan... In New Zealand, while not detected in clinical samples to date, BA.3.2 has been detected in wastewater collected from a few sites, albeit sporadically and at low levels, over the last 2 months.

Updated NZ wastewater COVID19 surveillance Dashboard. We do update it every other week, (& sorry for not posting on it though). Variants updated every 4 weeks. MC.10.2 showing a fair proportion…Check out poops.nz. FYI- Polio wastewater surveillance ongoing too & nothing to report there - all good!

Due to the timing of the Christmas and New Year holidays etc, many sites had only one collection a week, including the Wellington ones, so some caution in interpretation is required. Much prefer it when we can test two per week.

poops.nz New Zealand wastewater COVID-19 surveillance. Variants tracked include XEC - noting a variation on proportions on variants week on week can be expected especially when low concentrations of total virus levels are being detected. (Apologies for delays and absence of notifications).

poops.nz Updated dashboard - New Zealand wastewater COVID-19 surveillance. From 11 sites, 10 submitted samples last week, so slightly down in % coverage. A sequence run planned for next week (including next weeks samples, so variants in next update).

We need to make changes to the dashboard yet so sorry if it’s confusing at the moment. Btw- we worked especially hard last week to get the variant sequencing done on last weeks samples along with the previous weeks, so that they could be reported this week.
