The bombing of Iranian children is an unforgivable crime
America has blood on its hands.
New in PN: The bombing of Iranian children is an unforgivable crime
"American disinterest in the lives of people abroad is a resource politicians use to justify cynical wars. It's hard to see on what moral grounds we claim a right to decide the fate of those about whom we clearly care so little."

It's a sign of the times that AI companies are deciding whether or not to allow the military to engage in mass surveillance of US citizens and this is treated as a legitimate debate of two reasonable positions.

Caitlin KALINOWSKI over X
I resigned from OpenAl. I care deeply about the Robotics team and the work we built together.
This wasn't an easy call. Al has an important role in national security. But surveillance of Americans without judicial oversight and lethal autonomy without human authorization are lines that deserved more deliberation than they got. This was about principle, not people. I have deep respect for Sam and the team, and I'm proud of what we built together.
OpenAI head of robotics just resigned over company deal with the Pentagon saying…

NEW: Today marks 61 years since Bloody Sunday.
On this day, protestors in Alabama were brutally attacked by police. They marched anyway to secure something sacred: their voting rights.
But as we mark their sacrifice, SCOTUS threatens to squander it, Chika Okafor writes. https://bit.ly/4lfbwWA

The relevant law is Article 18 of the second Geneva Convention.
Submarines are bound by the law— and at the very least, the U.S. had an obligation to alert other ships to the need for a rescue.

After sinking Iranian ship, did the US military commit a war crime?
Hegseth says rules of engagement are 'stupid' but leaving survivors to drown violates laws America helped to put in place after World War II
An Iranian frigate is a legal target (even if unarmed) in war. Whether its sinking served a practical aim is debatable. If it was truly unarmed, it’s morally questionable.
However, the U.S. sub had a clear legal (& moral) duty to assist the survivors.

No Kings
As the president escalates his authoritarian power grab, the NO KINGS non-violent movement continues to rise stronger. We are united once again to remind the world: America has No Kings and the power ...
On March 28, we need to show up in world-historic numbers to send a message: Not in our name. The people of the US reject Trump’s brutality at home and abroad and we say in one voice: No wars of aggression. No terrorizing our communities or yours. No tyrants, no conquests, no kings.

We identified 12 shootings by federal agents that led to the deaths or injuries of citizens & immigrants since Sept.
Nearly every time, the Trump admin blamed the injured and dead. Experts say this apparent lack of accountability demands that local authorities step up to investigate federal agents.
