Weโve long called for action on the marketing & pricing of infant formula.
The UK govt has committed to 6 CMA recommendations (still voluntary)
All infant formulas are nutritionally the same, yet profit margins are high (50โ75%!)
We need action:
>> affordable formula all year

I had to pull this quote because it is

In the video, Hannah tells a ๐ story of having to leave her 5 month-old nursling to pursue higher ed. How sheโd cry in the shower as her milk ran down the drain.
Breastfeeding experiences are truly universal.

A Reddit post r/breastfeeding u/Leading-Case-1048 โข 1h Daycare that I work at said I can't nurse my baby Troubleshooting/Tips So I'm supposed to go back to work on Monday. I work at a daycare and my baby is 6 weeks old. It's breaking me enough going back so soon, and on top of that I'm trying to figure out the whole pumping thing (it's not going well and I absolutely hate it). I had a conversation with my supervisor today, and asked if it's possible for me to breastfeed my baby when needed since they're having me clock out every time to pump anyway. She said it's not allowed and i have to find a place to pump (break room, car, etc). I had my 6 week appt with my midwife today, and she told me it's illegal for them to refuse me the right to breastfeed my baby. Does anyone know the law on this?? (I'm in PA BTW)

I consider this paper to be essential reading for anyone who works in infant/young child nutrition and health. Literally anything related to that. You need to understand how food systems, supply chains, corporate practices, and climate change all interact.

The universal symbol for breastfeeding, except this version has a little globe where the babyโs head should be, and there is a little heart over the breastfeeding persons chest. Breastfeeding, Food security, Sustainability

The more people who are lactating when a disaster or supply chain interruption hits a community, the more buffered their children are from food insecurity.
Breastfeeding =
- food security for children of conflict
- food sovereignty for indigenous peoples
- zero emission food
