Hapuna Beach might be my family's favorite beach in all of Hawaii for swimming and splashing. Just an A+ beach!

Here's Guthrie @mesonet.org meteogram w/ similar pattern. Wind shift around 11 pm, temp and dew point dropped about 20 minutes later (Td plummeted into the 30s), and not long after Td rose a bit while temp took another leg down. Similar trend at Yukon. That's just my interpretation though!
The leading fine line is a wind shift. A 2nd, diffuse fine line is associated w/ drop in dewpoint and modest drop in T. IMO 3rd fine line behind the precip is main front associated with stronger winds and much cooler air. From my back yard - 1st passes around 11:50 pm, second around 12:20 am.
Voila!
Ongoing tornado passing less than 3 miles S/E of KVNX. Somewhat complicated evolution with a cell merger ongoing as small cells develop south of the nature supercell and move into it. #okwx

I haven't heard Kesha's "Joyride" yet, but I assume it's not a cover of this banger... Or is it?

Wow! Officially the biggest snowstorm in RI history. Providence will make a run at 40 inches
The amount of luck that's benefited Team USA is ridiculous. I can't believe how lucky we've gotten -- sure feels like Canada should be up by 2 or 3 after that 3rd period. Almost every single lucky bounce went our way...
We went on 9/15/24! Plot was a bit different from the movie, but I won't give any spoilers. If you liked the play, you should watch the movie.
I've seen it a bunch of times with my wife (it's one of her favorite movies). It's wacky in a fun way with a bit of heart, and there are several songs/mashups that are great. An action thriller it's not -- just depends on the type of movie you're looking for.
Random admission: I thoroughly enjoy "Moulin Rouge" and think the music in it is awesome. That is all. You may resume your Saturday evening. #ComeWhatMay
Strong wind blows ash off of the Ranger Road Fire burn scar in the Oklahoma Panhandle.
I haven't had to serve yet, but the risk of being on the jury of a CSAM, animal abuse, domestic murder, or other grotesque thing is in the back of my mind. The things that jurors sometimes see or hear, while playing a role in ensuring justice is served, can be traumatic.
Several large wildfires occurring today in the central US, where very windy (with wind advisories and high wind warnings in place as gusts over 65 mph are being measured) and very warm conditions (temps in the 70s and 80s) are occurring.
(My 75-300 mm isn't long enough -- need to commit on one of the longer 150-600 mm lenses one of these days. )

Went to Tinker on Sunday because I got word that there were F15s and F35s departing later that day. Winds were light from the NE, so went to N end. After ~2 hr wait, the 4 F15s ended up taking off Sbound as winds slowly shifted to E. Did get S to see 4 F35s depart (and an E6B doing patterns) tho.
I regret to inform you that โ1979โ by Smashing Pumpkins was released in 1996, which is now 30 years ago. Meaning a similar song released in 2026 would be called โ2009โ

The area in a winter storm warning is remarkable; the size of the area that'll see warning-level winter wx (e.g., heavy snow, sleet, and/or freezing rain) is astonishing. As much as snow, sleet, and freezing rain will cause massive disruption (travel, power, etc.), the SIZE of this is just as wild.
Let's talk about Cold Air Damming (CAD), specifically in reference to the southern Appalachians. Let's also talk about some struggles models have with simulating both the strength and the erosion of CAD. You will commonly read/hear CAD referred to as "the Wedge" in the south. Long chain incoming.
A winter storm will produce great swaths of heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain from the Rockies/Plains and Mid-South starting Friday and shift toward the East Coast through Sunday. The forecast continues to evolve. Latest at weather.gov.

I get that there are different interpretations & perspectives, but man I don't know how this continues. It seems obvious that the goal is to further divide, and the "unapologetically and incessantly lie" MO has gotten the admin far. Just feels like we're approaching a very worrying precipice.
I watched the video then made the mistake of reading comments to news articles on FB. We live in totally different realities. I'm sure some of the commenters are bots, but many make it obvious that they haven't watched the video and are just repeating what's coming from the WH, Noem, etc. 1/2
