Sent off a part of my chapter to my editor (Japanese monograph). Now, going back to BA students' dissertation check :)
In Munich. Met my medievalist friend yesterday. Then this morning while eating breakfast -two fathers were speaking in Italian. Spoke to them as it was so random to see someone in Munich, speaking in Italian. Turns out they are medievalists. This city is full of medievalists now....

Iโm saddened to hear of the death of Kurt Raaflaub. A lion in the field of Roman history and so very generous a champion of his students. Itโs hard to sum up everything I owe him in the form of social media. But Iโll do my best with a few anecdotes.
