Great to be at the first @thisisyourparty.bsky.social CEC meeting last night. I've prepared a short report with Scottish members in mind.

Massive thanks again for all the support as we look to build up here.

OPEN LETTER Your Party Scotland Interim Scottish Executive Committee raises concerns to Your Party collective leadership.

Now three weeks on from Your Party Scotland founding conference in Dundee, the interim Scottish Executive Committee (SEC) is increasingly concerned about the lack of communication with Your Party, and the lack of communications to members in Scotland. (1/4)

In case anyone wanted to know where the future of the active left is in Scotland, @niallchristie1.bsky.social got nearly twice as many votes for the Your Party executive committee as Ross Greer got for co-leader of the Greens.

I want to see a Your Party that works together, that works for others, and puts forward the views of ordinary members at every opportunity. That can only happen data, money for Scotland, and another voice for Scotland on the CEC.

From right now, I'll be fighting for all three.

Congratulations to the others who have been elected, and commiserations to all those who missed out. A particular shoutout to the phenomenal @lizzie4cec.bsky.social , who I was so looking forward to working with, and I hope has eyes on Wales' Executive in the near future!

Extremely proud to be elected to the CEC of @thisisyourparty.bsky.social.

A massive thanks to the 570 members in Scotland who put their faith in me, and an equally big thanks to all the others who backed Jim and Ian - who I look forward to continue working with as we build Your Party Scotland.

Your Party councillors to propose 'no cuts' budget for Glasgow YOUR Party councillors in Glasgow are set to propose a β€œno cuts” budget for the local authority.

Thanks to @scotnational.bsky.social for this on the People's Budget put forward by @thisisyourparty.bsky.social councillors. Councillors of all parties can choose to further decimate the communities they represent, or invest in real change. The choice is theirs.

Huge thanks to everyone who joined our hustings, and to Ian Drummond and Niall Christie for a really clear and constructive exchange.

North of the border, particularly with the votes this past weekend to establish an independent, autonomous Your Party Scotland, we need a combative and strong voice fighting for us on the CEC. I can be that voice.

Vote now. Vote Niall #1

INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES FOR SCOTLAND AND WALES AGREE TO WORK TOGETHER ON CEC

Statement from Lizzie Bailey and Niall Christie, standing for the Welsh and Scottish CEC seats, respectively:

Following the event β€˜YOUR PARTY SCOTLAND WALES: AN AFTERTHOUGHT?’ on Tuesday 3/2/26, we had a discussion with fellow Welsh and Scottish members who are worried at the lack of support from central Your Party and the dismissal of concerns of Your Party members in the devolved nations.

Going forwards, some of our joint priorities include:
- Push for data and finances to be released.
- Support creation of official branches.
- An additional CEC seat for Wales and Scotland.
- Proportionate nomination thresholds.
- Ensure the Welsh and Scottish conferences are decision making bodies with appropriate resources.
- Build strong relationships across Wales and Scotland.

Lizzie Bailey has been chosen by grassroots members to run for the Welsh seat of Your Party’s Collective Leadership on the CEC.

As part of the TLG, Lizzie assisted in the passing of two motions at the Founding Conference, requiring Your Party to commit to trans liberation. Lizzie is committed to representing Welsh voices in Your Party, and supporting mass member led democracy, and strongly believes that liberation for one is liberation for all.

Lizzie said:
β€œMy name is Lizzie and I am committed to fighting for socialist change, both within Your Party and beyond it. I've been involved in a variety of political groups and have taken on roles such as LGBT+ officer, Women's officer and co-chair of UNISON's national young members group. I've also been involved in local community organising including Palestinian liberation groups, anti-fascist groups, and educational workshops. I've been learning about politics and social injustice since I was a child, as I wanted to understand why hard working people still faced significant financial issues. I went on to study politics at university for my undergraduate degree and completed a masters in sociology in 2020.

I believe our society has more than enough wealth for us all to live long, healthy and fulfilling lives, but in our current political system all this wealth has been concentrated to a small number of individuals and this needs to change. Your Party can help drive this change, but we need to build a party that is accountable and speaks for ordinary people. I am committed to building Your Party from the ground up and have taken an active role to help build our local protobranch in Cardiff. As the CEC representative for Welsh members, I will ensure I represent the grassroots membership and continue working to help build a party that delivers change for the ordinary people that make up our communities and Your Party.”

TLG calls on Welsh members to endorse Lizzie once endorsements open on 21st January.

For any Your Party Scotland members in Liverpool this weekend, join us on Saturday night for a Fringe gathering from 7pm at the Quaker Meeting House.

Open from 7 and starting at 7.30, it's a short walk from the conference centre and bang in the city centre. Come along.

The system is broken, and it's by design.

For millions of people, life keeps getting harder: wages stagnate, bills rise and our public services are pushed to breaking point. Meanwhile, a tiny elite continues to hoard more wealth, and the establishment parties offer little more than managed decline.

Across the country, there is a clear appetite for real change. People know the status quo is broken and they are looking for something fundamentally different.

Reform is attempting to exploit that anger, but it is just another wing of the establishment. Nigel Farage scapegoats migrants and minorities to distract from the fact he is pushing the same failed neoliberal agenda. And the thing all establishment parties have in common? They all lick the boots of billionaires that fund them.

That's why we must provide a genuine alternative to the established order: Your Party - a proudly socialist, anti-Zionist, anti-imperialist party rooted in a mass movement. With more than 50,000 members, we are already the largest socialist party since the 1940s. A party capable of winning power, taking on the rotten establishment, and delivering the transformative change Britain urgently needs.

Our country is in crisis. The situation demands more than just a wealth tax, or any other single policy. It requires a fundamental transformation of society: workers running their industries, free and accessible public transport, universal childcare, and a commitment to building council housing comparable with the post-war period. It means rebuilding our society from the ground up, and giving everyone the chance to live the good life.

The Your Party founding process has been challenging, to say the least. I know many members are feeling frustrated and disillusioned, but the need for this party has not disappeared. The opportunity to reshape our society has not been foreclosed by a run of regrettable media coverage. Debate and disagreement are part of any healthy political project, but they must be conducted in a respectful manner.

Our founding conference next weekend in Liverpool is an opportunity to put the distractions and drama behind us and refocus on what actually matters: our members, our movement and our shared political vision of socialism.

Like all socialists of my generation, I have an incredible amount of respect for Jeremy.

As co-founders of Your Party, we owe it to our members and to the wider movement to work together and take on this corrupt establishment. As I have always said, subject to members' vote, I wish to co-lead this party with Jeremy, and I believe that conference should have the opportunity to vote on that option.

We cannot let this opportunity slip through our fingers; the stakes are far too high.

As a young Muslim woman who regularly receives racist Islamophobic abuse and death threats, I feel the visceral danger of Reform and its far right agenda - a threat that millions across the country also recognise and fear. We must all unite to stop Farage from getting the keys to Downing Street.

Let's make this the moment we get the party back on track.

The time is now.

ZARAH SULTANA MP
Your Party MP for Coventry South

Post image It will soon be a month since Your Party got its first councillors in Glasgow. In October, Seonad Hoy, Dan Hutchison and Leodhas Massie defected from the Scottish Greens, giving us three councillors on Glasgow City Council.

It’s been a busy month for the trio: appearing at their first Full Council; winning new seats at the table for trade unions at the council; forming a Councillor Liaison Group (CLG) with the branch to work going forward; even challenging the SFA on Scotland hosting Israeli footballers.

Now, they are hosting their first Councillors’ Assembly with Your Party Glasgow members and supporters, and we want you to join us.

At this event we will discuss potential motions to Glasgow City Council that our three councillors could take forward, and the decision on which one of these is submitted will be put in your hands.

This will also be a chance for you to meet Glasgow’s biggest ever group of socialist councillors in person, discuss how we can work together as a branch and councillor group, and how we work best for everyone in Glasgow.
