Whenever I say we should return to 1940-1980 tax levels for the super wealthy (billionaires) of 91%+ marginal tax I hear, "If you do that, billionaires will leave the USA."
To which I say:
1. Promise? Because it didn't happen last time.
2. Don't threaten me with a good time.

Finished The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong.
It was delightful! The characters all felt real and I was invested in their quests. The stakes were just high enough. And I enjoyed the world building. There's so much room for either more small intimate tales or a sweeping epic quest.

Columbo and books again.
Columbo is both the reason you should always have a lawyer with you when talking to the police and the perfect person to put bystanders at ease.

Like I know there are levels of morality/pearl clutching when it comes to on screen nudity. I just expected more of a discussion. And before the halfway mark.
You can present this kind of information without talking about the judgement involved. But firsts loose their impart if you don't know why.

Watching documentary Skin: a History of Nudity in the Movies.
Im a bit surprised by how much of the early history you can know just by knowing cinema history.
Im disappointed that it took to about 40 minutes in to mention male nudity at all. And then no mention of anything before the 60s.

Another thing I enjoy about Tubi, whole seasons of old tv shows.
Columbo is excellent background noise while I read. The plot beats are easy to follow so it doesn't take much attention. And it's on so I don't feel terrible about stopping reading to check what's happening.

You don't know what else someone who's wearing a red knitted cap is doing, and they prob shouldn't announce all the things they are doing โ nor do we want the fash to be able to identify who is and isn't doing heavy resistance work by virtue of a hat. Let symbols be popular.

Another Hayes Code era mystery that ended a couple minutes sooner is "Another Mans Poison".
Bette Davis's character was a bitch, but I feel like the murders were reasonable under the circumstances.

Okay but, do you see that parch he slipped on? It was dark while everything around it was dusted white. It was a known icy patch. At least one other person had taken a dive there before.

Minneapolis isn't "costal elite" like LA or Portland. It's not "crime ridden" like Chicago. It's part of the heartland; the bodies in front of them are white; there are too many for it to be a minority.
These are the people they told themselves were all silently behind them. And they ALL hate them.

It's been several years but I still think about the conversation I overheard at a barnes and noble.
These 2 older ladies were talking about the sacking of the Library of Alexandria. One mentioned it wasn't Christians that did it because they were all Catholic back then and that's pretty much pagan

Cats are so smart and perfect. My little girl is an old lady with kidney disease and the vet prescribed an anti nausea for her.
I've only given it to her once and this evening she sat on my lap like she was asking for it and let me give it to her with no fussing.

Tubi fills me with the sense memory of walking into the local video rental place in the middle of summer. Not Blockbuster, the store that was so local that there were 2 locations and the other was an equally small town 45 minutes away.

Thought after watching the latest episode of Hazbin. Depending on the part of the US Vox grew up in and the strength of the radio tower, it's entirely likely Vox had been a fan of Alastor since they were alive.
