I had to do it. I had to block Schumer for my sanity.
I had to do it. I had to block Schumer for my sanity.
Fucking hell I'm relabeling you in my phone as Blackstradamus at this point.
37% approve of the way Trump is handling his job as president?
37%?
As in, 1% more than 36%?

The Expanse depicted a world with something more like targeted goods and services than universal basic income. It was not cash that people could spend on anything and people had to choose between "Basic" and employment. It's a warning about NOT doing actual UBI.

People were arguing in my mentions today about whether the Earth is "round" when it's technically an irregular oblate spheroid and look "round" doesn't mean "absolutely perfect sphere" it means round. A soccer ball is round, a cantaloupe is round, a fluffy borb in winter is round, just go with it.
Someone give Lex $2 million so they can launch a politics version of Teen Vogue. Do it now. No strings attached.
I wrote about how "Grokipedia" is a new front on the war against reality itself. It's an attempt by the oligarchic class to seize the means of knowledge production itself and create a weaponized unreality.

The poverty part lol
Mamdani doesn't have nazi tattoos, and Mamdani is not a typical, centrist, do nothing, waste of space, Dem candidate.
There are more than just those two terrible options, no matter what centrist Dems would have you believe.
With all the criticisms of AI one I don't see as often is how it's the final form of the tech industry's 20+ year push to take computers and internet from "useful tool you can use in a vast variety of ways" to "thing that does everything for you and gives you as few options as possible for doing so"
I hear both transphobes and normal folk talking about Testosterone as a performance enhancing drug and Estrogen as performance decreasing drug, and that's dude centric and not true. T and E are both performance enhancing drugs for sports. They just enhance different aspects.
Let's talk powerlifting
Oh look it's exactly the thing many of us have been advocating for for the last three years but were told was impossible. Hm.
Anyway, any team that tells you one can't rebuild "generative AI" architectures in a more modular way so as to allow for data to be removed after ther fact, is lying to you.
(A fun thing to know about me is that you will be VERY hard pressed to convince me that my takes on the expanse are wrong because Daniel Abraham has not once but TWICE specifically cited me as having clear incisive understandings of the series ππ€·πΎββοΈ)
I cannot emphasize enough how true & real this is.
In almost anywhere on the political spectrum you ID with or major issue, thereβs probably a bot/troll operation to encourage your rage and vitriol.
And how/where that rage gets directed, esp understandable rage, is what they are out to influence.
Still still still this

Fascinating to see the different pictures coming out of AEW and WWE this week.
My country town had at least a hundred person march #nokings
Going through months-worth of Google Scholar Alert emails getting caught up on neuro papers, so I figured I'd share some fun findings here π
UPDATE
ONE OF THE WOMEN IN THE MATCH JUST POSTED THESE FOUR PHOTOS AND THIS MESSAGE:
"We hit each other.
Then we hold on tighter.
I guess thatβs our forever."
We really need to sort capitalizing on epistemic threats & ontological shocks. The right has it easier because uncertainty, fear, anger, & conspiracy thinking go hand-in-glove, but an ontological shockβ a moment when where assumptions about reality are shakenβ is also an opportunity to learn Better.
if your grand approach to politics is bloodless poll-testing so that you're always aligned with wherever public opinion happens to be, you've already lost
Why attend school if you're not hungry to learn?
Um... because our society says that poor people should die from easily curable diseases, in pain, alone, and homeless? And the way we've told kids to "not be poor" is to get a good job? And to get a good job you need a college degree and good grades?
Y'all, I know these folks personally. Their well has run dry. They don't have running water. If you can help, please do.

deradicalizing people individually is a very, very different project from defeating fascism nationally.
like, it feels like the two things work the same way, but I really don't think they do at all. 1
In this sociopolitical moment, with these sociotechnical concerns, Kennesaw Stateβ the university where I'd taught the longest thus farβ is getting rid of their degrees in philosophy, Black studies, & technical communication, & it's hard to not also feel this assemblage of facts as a personal attack
You cannot determine toxicity from looking at a sequence of characters, because context matters more than the characters themselves.
And the context of marginalized groups is not included in training and labeling data (training time), and not provided when coming up with a score (inference time).
Keep fighting against these people, because they can be beaten.
