Indeed they can, I guess it's the main point on which it differs from the other Monuments - it's certainly up there in terms of spectacle I agree.

It doesn't have history on its side, so I think it will have to wait a while.
It's confusing ๐ซ
I know right?! A great idea in theory!
I wanted to watch it but apparently it's not included in my plan? I have a sports-only plan and apparently this doesn't come under sports ๐ Which is intensely frustrating when I'm already paying through the nose for the privilege of watching ad-strewn racing. (I'M FINE ๐คฃ)
Sorry, asked the qu then disappeared! Totally agree that the format has some issues. Problem is, bouldering has so many different nuanced styles that one climber could easily flash something another one might struggle on. When it worked it was great. When it didn't it was too like speed climbing.
It was a fun one to write! ๐
Had fun pulling together this piece on gravel-based races, featuring insights from some of the best riders to take on this kind of racing - have a read and whet your appetite for Strade Bianche!
Did anyone catch this? Interested to hear your thoughts. Hope you all fell in love with the delightful Max Milne after his epic effort, and seeing anyone overturn Janja is pretty mindblowing... Have mixed feelings on the format, was a bit hit and miss, super dependent on the route-setting.
As someone who suffers with similar dietary issues, I was pretty inspired to discover that Brennan is sweeping to the top of cycling despite suffering from celiac disease.
A difficult condition to manage, and especially on the road with massive calorie demands.

Definitely!

The way I wpuld quite happily take this road trip unironicslly and only realise later what I'd actually done ๐
(I miss being in France so freaking much right now) ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
My sports-mad friends, the first ever Pro Climbing League has just kicked off on Red Bull TV (free in the UK, not sure on the status outside of UK). New format for pro climbing, Olympic medallists and world cup winners aplenty - check it out!

Super useful thank you!
The Opening Weekend is just around the corner, and so is March a month with multiple major races, including the first Monument of the year #MSR ๐ฎ๐น, as well as Strade Bianche, classics like E3, and ParisโNice / TirrenoโAdriatico๐ด๐ดโโ๏ธ
Thereโs a lot to look forward to in March! ๐ธโจ
This is so sad ๐ข Poor guy. You could tell he wasn't in a good way - is he usually this unlucky?! ๐ฌ
We need balance otherwise what's even the point for all the riders who aren't Mathieu and Pog? It's already hard enough on any given day when one of them shows up (let alone both). E3 was a really interesting race as it was.
I've been busy today thankfully but now I'm home I am going to feel a bit lost not sitting down to eat with some sport or other. Might watch something that I missed first time around!
Oh sweet, that would be amazing!
The Winter Olympics is over ๐ฅฒ I've never enjoyed one as much as this. Falling in love with new sports, discovering amazing new athletes, screaming at the TV as I became an expert in ALL the things. Brilliant. Already planning to be there in Nice in four years time!

It's kind of a sideways comment but the Dylan van Baarle being invisible thing has just reached new heights, I spent the whole of the end of that race not seeing him because he wasn't in yellow, despite being repeatedly told he was there ๐
๐ซ๐
Mackinnon and Toews man those two chances in the final period OMG. I can't help but feel like since Canada lost Sid they were just destined not to do the job. They had every chance. Hellebuyck was absolutely immense. Gutted though.
It's the tensest hockey game I've ever witnessed. I need oxygen.
I am going to need oxygen.
Everyone watching the hockey final doing OK? Are we OK? I'm not very OK. I might be quite stressed.
