anywyas i think zelkov could be a nice and fitting spring alt. his entire Thing is finding meaning in the mundane and getting really caught up in his *hobbies*, i think he could find a lot of *enjoyment* painting and hiding eggs

for what it's worth, i think the royals get out well enough, it's the retainers that really suffer (and even then id' say engage does it better than fates, there are some really great characters there, you just really need to know what supports to view/get lucky)

it doesn't need to be one with a conversation tbf! innes fe8 is another one i'll shout out - the leadup to the actual fight in ch10 eirika mode does SO MUCH to flesh out what was, before then, just kind of a douche

imo a good recruitment conversation goes a long way. like don't get me wrong supports are good, but something modern fe is missing is the recruitment that immediately tells you a lot about them. like heath and raven are some of my fe7 faves and they have *very* characterful recriutments!
