I don’t necessarily see combined authorities making town councils more or less important but do think that they’re incredibly important for those things either way
If you want more money in your area you have to form a combined authority with 1.5 million people and you have to have a mayor. Wessex (Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, BCP) agreed to do this and were denied. Now other areas are being delayed but are still getting some extra money whilst we get nothing

Last night we debated an anti-racist motion in full council. A number of people turned up angry about that fact and then decided to interrupt the proceedings
If these people truly didn't think they were racist then why would they be angry about a motion condemning racism?
