Exit Chorus
So stands the realm upon a knife’s keen edge,
To choose the path of profit or of guard.
The pipeline’s tale, like all in mortal hands,
Shall end in glory—or in grievous scar.
Exit Chorus
So stands the realm upon a knife’s keen edge,
To choose the path of profit or of guard.
The pipeline’s tale, like all in mortal hands,
Shall end in glory—or in grievous scar.
Enter The Youth (aside)
“Two voices pull: one toward the gilded purse,
The other toward the silent ancient stone.
I fear our heirs shall judge us harsh or kind,
For what we build, or what we dare destroy.”
Enter The Merchant
“Markets do cry! The east hath hunger fierce.
If we delay, the treasure shifts away.
Best seize the hour, lest fortune flee our hands.”
Enter The Elder of the First Peoples
“Think not the land a beast for endless yoke.
These hills, these tides, are not thine to command.
The whale, the salmon, sing within their streams,
And if thou wound’st them with thy blackened flood,
What shall thy children eat, or drink, or breathe?”
Enter The Crown’s Minister
“Full coffers make a kingdom strong and sure.
What fort we build, what school we raise,
Must lean upon the sinews of the earth.
If we deny the pipeline’s noble course,
Our foes abroad will feast whilst we grow lean.”
My country for a pipeline -

Lo, a realm vast and rich with forest deep,
Where rivers carve their ancient silver paths,
The northern coast awaits a burden’d choice:
Shall iron serpent stretch from plain to sea,
To bear black gold unto the world’s desire?
“OPEC is increasing production, the US are trying to increase production, prices are going down as a result of a recession triggered by the trade war. Is this really a time for us to be building a big multi-billion dollar project to try to get more oil to tidewater that nobody wants?”
Let’s not repeat this in Canada, folks!
Alberta keeps boo-hooing as though they are getting the short end of the stick. DS is all about it. When/how will this be resolved? Maybe a referendum is the answer. That Pollara poll referenced shows that a strong majority of Albertans want to stay part of Canada.

We should learn from the history of a post-war pipeline project that at one point seemed vital then was quickly abandoned, and cleaned up extremely slowly, writes Keith Brooks www.nationalobserver.com/2025/02/28/o...
Clearly a very strong mandate to all the things.
Doug Ford has fallen short. Vote for change.
As comforting as continuity may seem, what Ontario needs is change. Liberals, NDP, Greens: take your pick. A vote for any is a vote for a better Ontario. #StarEditorial
Gotta focus on that shareholder value!

"Almost all of Ontario's gas is imported. Most of it is fracked gas from Pennsylvania and Ohio. Do we want to be spending all that money importing gas from the United States right now, when we're entering into this trade war and talking about tariffs?"
