I am so very excited to travel to the USA as all of this is going on.

If my trip was just for pleasure I would cancel.

None of this helps the US case.

IMO big risk coming up is that a modern insurgency now includes cheap drones.

The range of an insurgency is now measured in hundreds of kilometres, which is plenty enough to keep the Hormuz closed indefinitely.

Ironic and likely.

USA about to learn that no amount of aerial bombardment can stop an insurgency in the cheap drone era.

The USA will be lucky if Iran allows them to repair their war torn country should Iran allow the oil to flow again.

Not wrong. We should liquidate almost every other piece of military hardware and develop a nimble drone industry.

I’m going to go as far as to say that the USA massively overplayed their hand with this.

Get ready for the long haul (years).

I think the markets are finally waking up to what is really going on.

The red river rebellion era would make a really good limited series. Lots of gangs, wilderness, First Nations stories, politics.

A potential authentic drama to compete with all of the plonky American “Wild West” type shows.

I think Spain’s stance should be the model. The risk of terrorist attacks must have skyrocketed and for what? Best to stay out of it IMO and who cares what the USA says.

Things go back and forth. I don’t see Russia getting overtly involved as they have their own problems and a lot to lose.

If Iran falls to factional fighting or civil war Russia could use those factions as a proxy to strike at the west via attacks on gulf client states.

It is ridiculous. I used to regularly walk from 109 st to 102 st and I never found a sequence that would work with my walking pace.

The alley north of Jasper combined with jaywalking was the most efficient but why should I have to walk amongst the dumpsters just to get around efficiently.

As a former president of the downtown Edmonton community league I was an advocate for responsible jaywalking.

It was my community, and I believed that my right to walk where I wanted was superior to the rights of the suburban driver.

I even let EPS representatives know my stance.

And to transform Iran in to the secular democracy we all desire they will need to sell oil.

They will need to sell oil in a market that is flooded with the stuff. Would Saudi Arabia want that? I doubt it.

Like what is left after all this? A failed state with Islamists hiding in the hills building simple drones to constantly attack ships in the strait?

Sunni nations allied with Israel trying to keep the remains of Shia Iran at bay? How will that play out in those countries?

I have about a million thoughts in my head about how things are going to go in the Middle East now that the USA has kicked the hornets nest.

Sucks to add an hour to your trip after a long flight just to get to the century park staton where you still have to wait for a train.
