A couple of trucks had made several passes, attempting to “roll coal” at the stop light.There were cheers & laughter after one of them roared off the line at the green light and the RHPD officer 2 cars behind hit his lights. Too bad we couldn’t see the actual stop to applaud!

Aug. 24, 1955: Old Fort School Desegregation Struggle
The destruction of a local Black elementary school and the refusal to allow Black children to attend the all-white school led to a years-long battle for desegregation in Old Fort, North Carolina.
#tdih 1955 (after BvB ruling), a group of Black students attempted to enter Old Fort ES in Old Fort, NC.
They were turned away at the door.
(Earlier white officials had shut down the beloved school in the Black neighborhood. 💔)

A total of 12 people have walked on the Moon. Most people can name at least one (Neil Armstrong). Some can name two (Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin). Few can name more than that.
Jim Lovell never walked on the Moon, but everyone knows him as the guy who got his crew back safely. Hell of a legacy.

Still very timely in SC- they have raised beginning teacher pay, removed points requirements for 5 year license renewals for experienced Ts & guaranteed work days at the start of the year. Yet, they’re piloting a program where someone can serve as a T for 3 years wo being in a T prep program! 😳

I called Ralph Norman’s office earlier this week & today. The sweet staffer today tried to explain that the bill wasn’t going to cut SNAP benefits, but “reform the program to make it better.” 😂
That’s some next-level pretzel logic there.
