Thanks! I'm thinking of giving it a try here to see if I can get into a groove again.
I miss the days when I used to post weird philosophical things on Twitter, mostly about XR and multiple realities. For me at least, the X algorithm is not optimized for sharing and community building anymore. How is this site? Should I start posting "liminal" thoughts again?
Oh awesome! Can't wait to say hi!
If you are attending AWE Europe in December, come to the most potentially-totally-out-there presentation I'm preparing with my partner in crime, Belgian artist Peter Vander Auwera. We'll introduce you to the ARG we've been working on for some time.
And I have similar feelings about cool, fancy or hipster looking interiors. Yes, interior design does have an impact on mood. But the obvious thing is that you can be the most misserable person in an office that looks like a Vitra showroom & the happiest in a shed.
I love this concept. The increasing use of technology in architecture has, at this point, reached such monstrous proportions and consequences that I feel inclined to start a movement where drawings are hand traced and 3D models are built out of clay... (have used clay before for massingπ)
Here's the most important take away, in the words of digital culture historian Kevin Kelly:
"Our most important thinking machines will not be machines that can think what we think faster, better, but those that think what we canβt think."
I have finally uploaded a series of lectures I gave on the topic of spatial intelligence for DIGITAL Futures:

Like the moment to moment gameplay of:
talk to character -> quest -> go to place -> kill some dudes -> get a bunch of loot -> sell most of that loot -> repeat
Just doesn't do anything for me as a short to medium game loop anymore.
I'd just rather watch that game in Youtube as background noise now.
Super interesting, thank you!
Very interested in Interface and Us. Is it good?
Yep, we'll meet every Thursday for a while.
Come get some VR writing done!
Have some tasks that just don't want to get done? We're coming together to work in NUMENA's Discord server tomorrow at 6p CET / 12p ET. Join us:

I write narrative instead of fixing engine bugs. Maybe we can trade.
Big news for us at NUMENA! We're excited to be part of the team building the digital future of archaeology. Stay tuned for updates, collab calls, and case studies.
Definitely beautiful!
@andreeavr.bsky.social is one of my favourite thinkers in this space. Only her can wave philosophy, architecture, design, computer science and more so gracefully.
A great and humbling talk on perspectives of perceived reality
Thank you. Michal!
Fascinating πΊ
Thank you!
Is there a human and a beyond-human reality? This video outlines the mental models I use to think about these things. I call it an "operational framework" because it comes in handy when developing concepts for immersive tech.
From a DigitalFUTURES workshop earlier this year.

Anyone I know or you know familiar with using Unreal for VFX that can be added to real footage?
The concept of mysterious underwater currents that, now and then, shore up valuable ideas immediately rings true for creatives. Here's how reading Jung has turned my doodles into narratives I've been using for work:

First time seeing Jung's archetypes in the form of a spatial diagram. Compared to the traditional wheel, this is vastly more effective. It's also a beautiful example of spatial affordances used to communicate A LOT of abstract ideas on a single page (something comics know all about).
There's something missing in XR storyboarding. I wish we had something more abstract, like a notation for spatial experience. It shouldn't show you things, but help you play them in your head instead. Still working on it, but here's a look at music, dance and poetry.

@andreeavr.bsky.social is smart and interesting and always up to fascinating projects. If you donβt believe me look up any of the interviews she did with @kentbye.com on his Voices of VR podcast πΊ
Thank you, much appreciated! Hope to see you there, would love to say hi.
