59 semi painted Broodbrother themed Astra Militarum models including Cadians and Ogryns.
I'm working on some fresh meat for the grinder. And the thing about #AstraMilitarum is that you either go big or go home. With 59 models on my hobby table, batch painting is the only viable approach for me. I'm two colours down & just started on the third. #WarhammerCommunity
Yep. Air raid sirens, big bangs and sheltering in basements certainly weren't on my bingo card for 2026. Can't help but think of those who had it much worse than me. An end to this thing can't come soon enough.

Sometimes you just get very lucky. Someone was doing a clear out & needed rid of some unwanted #AstraMilitarum taking up space in their cupboard. I popped over & picked up a mountain of plastic. They're going to need some fixing up, but my Guard army just doubled in size. Wow! 😮

Ultramarines units built but not painted.
I prefer my Astartes to have their helmets on & I really hate it when I'm not given the option to use helmets. Calgar was simple to sort out. But Cato Sicarius took a bit more effort. Not quite happy with the positioning of his pistol, but it'll do. Anyone else done the same?

I hear you. Really interesting how we all have our unique ways of managing our backlog. It's not a space issue for me. I just prefer keeping my cupboard trim. I often stop myself buying new kits until I clear my backlog. It's a powerful incentive to build & paint what I already have.
"Good enough" is an incredibly useful principle in our hobby. It helps calibrate our expectations of success. My #Ultramarines are for gaming not display. These reinforcements are good enough for the tabletop. So I'm calling them done & moving on to the next project.

Steps in a batch painting process.
It's counterintuitive, but because I'm such an impatient painter, I always choose batch painting. Faced with a tableful of minis, there's nothing more off-putting for me than finishing a mini & then having to start from scratch all over again on something very similar.

Had my 2nd ever game using my #Drukhari. I didn't do as well as last time. My friend ran his #DarkAngels using the Vanguard Spearhead. I got stomped but learned a lot about my army's weaknesses. I have another game planned for this weekend. 2026 is gonna to be my Year of Play 😁

I played my first ever game with the #Drukhari. I had a blast taking on the Emperor's Children. Great learning experience. I was blown away on points but the army held it's own & the game was hella fun.

Stripped Space Marines ready for priming and repainting.
Haven't touched my Raven Guard in ages so I've stripped them to flip them to my Ultramarines army. Interestingly I remember stripping & flipping some of them from Ultramarine to Raven Guard years ago. Nothing is permanent when you have methylated spirits & an old toothbrush 😁. Happy New Year to all!

Fresh reinforcements for my #BroodBrothers themed Imperial Guard army. Another Rogal Dorn along with some supporting armour. That brings me up to 13 vehicles. I enjoyed building and painting them. Now I'm really looking forward to playing them 😁

My Serrine 148th take on the Dark Angels.
Took my Rogal Dorn out for a spin. Despite the threat of "new model syndrome" it somehow managed to last until the 4th round when The Lion took a distinct dislike to it. I forgot just how much I enjoy playing Guard. Can't wait for the next game. #WarhammerCommunity

Space Marines of the Blood Ravens chapter.
I needed to clear my mind & cleanse the hobby palate. So I dusted off these old minis & gave them a new lick of paint. Yep, I've had Dawn of War on my mind 😁. I used the minis to experiment with oil washes too. A fun little change & a very useful learning experience too. #WarhammerCommunity
The Serrine 148th Regiment work closely with the Serrine Tempestus Scions Detachment. The Schola Progenium at Serrine was among the first institutions to be infiltrated and converted by the world's Genestealer Cult.
I completely forgot about the Tempestor Scions gathering dust at the back of my hobby cupboard. I've not used them since 8E and they've been repainted so often, the paint is showing its girth. Cue yet another shameless vanity shot of this army. 😁

That's it for now. Not counting the Vindicare, around 1500 points of my Serrine 148th, all set for the tabletop. Must admit, the vehicles were the quickest part of this army to paint. Not sure what's next 🤔 Maybe a Rogal Dorn at some point.
