I just finished reading @danhanly.com ‘s unpublished book The Revered and the Reviled and omg it’s so good. Agents, you need to pay attention to this one when it comes your way! The setup and mirroring in it is skilful and the ending is so bittersweet 😭

Any Brummie of my generation will get a memory jolt when they look at the background of this picture. Can anyone help Mike with his query?
BBC 4 extra scheduling for The State of the Art
Due to be available on BBC Sounds later today👍
A photo of a large rectangular puddle set into turf.
Portal number 34.
I don't want to hear "Robin Hood live-action remake" unless I see Alan Tudyk in a fursuit.
4pm today on BBC Radio 4 Extra it’s the repeat of my adaptation of Iain M. Banks’ The State of the Art, with Sir Antony Sher as the ship. So proud of this amazing production by @nadiamolinari.bsky.social
'the pupil announced he was “working on something important about Swansea” before lying on the playground tarmac to “feel the rhythm of the town”.
...explained to a confused Year 3 class that the sea was “restless and unforgiving”.

Q: What do you call a Mercian king who has reduced his prices?
A: Special Offa
Blessing that the guy who's been whistling tunelessly for the last fifty minutes has decided to have a coffee. I can stop trying to follow the tune that exists only in his head but he's kindly decided to externalise.
Sorry, lore *master*. Possibly one cursed with a geas of truth sharing.
Lore keeper.
I was unprepared for the deviation from your usual discourse. Try summon familiar, it should be a class ability.

If it wins, I will STOMP and ATOMIC BREATH the parliament of YOUR CHOICE!*

*Stompings may be scheduled for off-peak hours. Parliamentary selection based on greatest demand. Atomic breath may contain allergens and are not suitable for under-13s.
I must stress, this is a campaign which has stopped the Government rushing through what tech lobbyists are asking for. We may or may not win, but sitting on our arses now makes one outcome more likely, doesn't it.
Are you secretly Gail Carriger? 🤨
British female track and field athletes are being asked to cover the cost of their own £185 sex tests if they want to compete internationally. Because curbing trans people's rights to participate in anything subjects everyone to intrusive scrutiny and here, hefty expense. This is not a 'them' issue.

Unless substantiated, presume false. Sadly.
Is it wrong that I wouldn't put it past them?
Cover of Dunnett’s The Game of Kings
Have to have Dorothy Dunnett here. She was so extraordinarily good. This begins her Lymond Chronicles. She was someone I knew, later, was so gracious to someone so much younger, before I’d written anything. Plus her husband Alastair taught me to put a little water in my whisky. #worldbookday
Michael Sheen backs Plaid Cymru - the only party in the running with "the best interests of Wales at heart" 🏴
The choice this election is clear: hope and ambition with Plaid Cymru, or Reform dragging Wales backwards.

Covers of books by Patrick Samphire. The Mennik Thorn series (Epic fantasy mystery). The Secrets of the Dragon Tomb series (Middle Grade adventures). The Casebook of Harriet George series (Murder mysteries on Mars). And my short story collection, At the Gates and Other Stories.
It's World Book Day, and I do have books in the world, so, you know, I think you're legally required to buy them. I think that's how it works.
