Of colours

Specks of white
That work
Together

Setting alight
My imagination
Though pages
Of a book
Are black and white

My mind sees more
That’s how the magic works

heart aches and head aches
humanity feels its age
with self-inflicted pain
just looking for some relief
from its self-induced shame

The armchair waits by the window,
creased with years of belonging.
That was where the world slowed for him,
where silence learned his name.

Today the chair is empty,
but the love he rested in
has only changed rooms.
