been doing so much systems improvement work over the last few weeks
eg a flexible camera and player behaviour manager with capability bitmask. So you can have walk-up interactions that stop combat/interaction prompts, but still permit movement to walk away
PRETTY CLOSE, i like your thinking
No one but me knows what's under this blanket
Sick and tired of your boring clean room? Have you tried spawning 813 pieces of paper? You'd be surprised how much more fun 813 pieces of paper can make your room

I made a susbtack because I was so incensed and needed to write this review: Bondage and sex is fun, but gothic horror is better open.substack.com/pub/scaryhag...

alright i take jolt slander back
- DO use jolt physics
- crank up damping coefficient >> 1.0 (took me 2 days to realise you can...)
- reduce linear stiffness (~0.18)
- code pins & assign attachments in _onready (easier)
- put softbody as child of your 'visual' node (inherit rot/move), NOT skeleton
going absolutely mad trying to use softbodies in #godot (v4.6)
jolt vs default physics creates very different simulations - jolt seems more chaotic even though its use is pushed in 4.6
active pins are only sometimes visible and a nightmare to track
...i just want a cool capeπ₯

because i had to be extra, the game is set on a tidally locked planet with three moons, one of which orbits so slowly it looks like it doesn't move in the sky over your entire lifetime
I am officially back... with bees. New tutorial video every week!

Amazing to hear you can envisage finishing soon! I for one would love to see more posts about how you are handling the human element if you feel like sharing :)
I relate so much! These huge projects are a slog and so isolating, especially when they span years and you yourself evolve alongside the work. I advise you to cut stuff if you can, seriously downscope! Sometimes its relieving to feel closer to finishing in that way. Regardless, you're never alone ππ
