We love going to the cinema as a family but why does every cinema think that all wheelchair users want to sit in the very front row practically touching the screen where it is extra loud and blurry. Surely there have to be some alternatives to this?
Got a new mug yesterday and itβs the perfect hand huggable weight shape and size and that makes me very happy as they are hard to find βοΈβοΈβοΈ
In our neurodivergent house co-occurring physical disabilities & chronic illnesses are a huge part of our lives & so both personally & professionally, I am really looking forward to our next @swanautismscotland.bsky.social webinar with @charliclement.bsky.social www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1417515690...
For those of you living in the uk there will be another alert on the 7th sept - I found this really upsetting last time so making sure I am well warned this time!! news.stv.tv/world/mobile... Mobile phone emergency alert system with 'high-pitched' alarm to be tested in September | STV News
Absolutely this! Sometimes when I say I struggle with sound people automatically assume it is just the volume, for me it is much more about the number of sources of sound & picking out the particular one I am tying to hear, like a person speaking to me in busy room is so overwhelming and impossible
Looking forward to hosting this one, tickets start at just Β£10
Image of two paint tins and a paint roller in a painting tray. Background is a beige colour. Paint tray is black with a turquoise paint in it and on the roller lying in it. Both paint tins in the front of the picture contain turquoise paint and have a white label on them
Post moving realisations - I hate decorating!
How do I know what colours I like? It's hard to imagine it on the walls. Or not pick the same colour for every room
Stress of everything in the wrong places & living in chaos
And oh the smell of paint & the feeling on my skin (that doesn't wash off!)
Can't wait to be joined by @autisticrealms.bsky.social for our @swanautismscotland.bsky.social webinar tomorrow night! (FREE) spaces still available www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1317274135...

Why does every healthcare communication passport have such awful language in it??!
Most managers and employers only have time to consider neuro-inclusion when things go wrong...
Investing a little time in embedding neuro- affirming practices from the outset creates strong, diverse teams & happy, healthy, productive workplaces- Join us next week www.eventbrite.com/cc/swan-trai...
Not a fan of hearing my own voice back but loved hearing the final edit of podcast been working on with NHS Education for Scotland as a learning resource for the health and social care workforce to raise awareness of and better understand neurodiversity. So much to squeeze into a short podcast.
I grew up in Aberdeen as an undiagnosed autistic individual.
Now late diagnosed I am devastated that so many others will also have that choice and opportunity taken away (as much as there are flaws with many of the nhs diagnosis processes) please consider signing the petition chng.it/dYG82T82y9
Just a couple of weeks to go until this workshop for www.swanscotland.org there are still some spaces www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1074373392...
Absolutely loved working with www.cilip.org.uk and can't wait to deliver our session this afternoon on Autism and Libraries with a particular focus on intersectionality for their Winspiration-Feminism for Libraries and Librarians Series.
So proud of my brothers who set off tomorrow to cycle 700miles in 4 days in memory of our dad and to raise much needed funds & awareness for MND. www.justgiving.com/page/puggled...
Looking forward to delivering training with Paths for All this afternoon for SWAN. We love working with @pathsforall.bsky.social to develop more inclusive health walks & can't wait till later in the year when they in turn also train more of our volunteers to be SWAN walk leaders www.swanscotland.org
Just one of the ways #ABA is literally Abuse to #Autistic & #ND children and young people ..
They are also taught they cannot say no to Authority or even Perceived Authority
Which can and does lead to further abuse , CPTSD , mental health issues and even the potential to be #Groomed
So happy about this!
Just a couple of weeks until I am hosting this for SWAN Scotland (www.swanscotland.org) with @draxbey.bsky.social We still have a few spaces remaining, can't wait!

calmspaces.org/about is a very useful newer enterprise, asking older autistic people (50+) in the UK about which spaces and places are autistic-friendlier. Also asking for older autistic people to review more places and add them. Info on the website. Please feel free to share.
How can we talk about neurodivergence or neurodiversity without relying on medical diagnostic labels?
We deserve to understand ourselves beyond the DSM.
We deserve to assign our own meanings to our differences instead of relying on the single narrative that theyβre a deficit, disorder or illness.
Oh I need to do a few of those!
