I would imagine they run more 4-3 base now because that probably suits the talent better now and might draft more for a 3-4 front given that's where they might move in the future.
I don't think its beyond Gannon's ability to mix-in multiple fronts based on their talent or opponents.

You could be right. But, GB's defensive issues hasn't been chunk plays (assuming a chunk play is an explosive play) as much as not getting off the field on 3rd/4th down.
Only MIN, DEN, and LV was better than GB in limiting explosives. GB was bottom 3rd in Down Conversion Rate Allowed.

Both guys inherited teams on a downswing with aging HOF QBs. McCarthy inherited a 4-win team and won 8 games. MLF inherited a 6-win team and won 13 games.
The ring cannot be argued, but MLF has been much better in the regular season than Big Mac (who I love and hope gets PIT back to the SB, to lose the GB).
