The trick with an N64 stick in good condition is to open it up and apply Silicone Grease to all the points of contact. Got a N64 controller in perfect condition that I did this treatment to and it actually feels smoother than brand new.
This will not fix a stick that is already worn out.
This is the most common reason I will choose to hide someone's avatar outright.
Just use a Steam Deck instead
They have tried that already, Windows 10 S was exactly that.
I actually just finished playing Super Paper Mario about a week ago (never played it back in the day). Kinda agree overall, I was starting to get rather tired of the gameplay.
Snaps are just worse flatpaks
Finally released all the PCB and model files for my WavePhoenix-MSBM-Altboard variant of the @loopj.com Wavephoenix for the Gamecube Wavebird. Check it out if you are having trouble sourcing the chipset used in the stock design. github.com/MehStrongBad...
Dang, that's an incredibly severe case of sleep apnea. Glad to hear it is being dealt with. I had sleep apnea when I was young and needed to get my tonsils removed. Which, thankfully, fixed it for me.
The tin is a huge benefit, I can hold 80 of these in less space than I could hold six Lactaids.
I utilized this firmware, github.com/DavidPagels/... though I made some tweaks to it. Works on Switch, as a result.
WavePhoenix USB opened to reveal a mess of two circuit boards
Well your approach is probably gonna be better than mine. I simply bolted it to a RP2040.
WavePhoenix USB receiver alongside regular WavePhoenix receiver
This is more of a what-if style proof of concept, I wondered if it would be be handy to have a direct GameCube Wavebird USB receiver utilizing my variant of the @loopj.com Wavephoenix. Turns out it wasn't too difficult to put together, and it actually looks fairly clean (but looks can be deceiving).
Please do, I don't have a c3 (or even a stock receiver) to compare to
I respect that it works, but I still hate it regardless
Possibly, still refining both
I used the RF-BM-BG22A3. It has the same IC, it is just a bit bigger. I hooked up to the same GPIO pins, so it is able to use the stock BG22C3 firmware. The larger antenna may be making the reception better, cause I am getting reception from rather large distances.
WavePhoenix Receiver with raw PCBs behind it.
Finally put together my first completed WavePhoenix, a replacement receiver for the GameCube Wavebird controller. I modified @loopj.com's original pcb design to use an alternate package, as the recommended one was completely out of stock. Works perfectly!
