Exactly the discussion we had yesterday about this!
Anyone been through the new OFSTED? Head is fully convinced we are this month. Just spoken to a local school who were done last week and had a horrible experienced. A member of staff was even shushed by an inspector!
Interesting that a school that had OFSTED almost four years ago to the day is having their inspection this week. The head is now sure that we will also be inspected this month as we are 4 years ago too. Anyone else finding this a pattern? #OFSTED
God I could have written that! Everyone says how I never look flustered or stressed, yet on the inside I can be at breaking point!
Omg this! I'm sitting here on the verge of crying and I think its because for 2 weeks I've had a life. I've smiled and laughed and seen friends and family. And now I have to get back to being engrossed in work and on the go constantly!
How do I keep 4 chn who all need different things engaged and making progress, all while managing SATS focus for the rest of the class? Any tips much appreciated. I've dealt with having 1 new to eng before, but not 4 who need all very different things! #eduskyprimary #edusky #eal
Since sept, 4 new chn have joined our y6 class - all new to England. Wide range of abilities - from zero Eng, never been to school, can't write their own name or count to 10, to can't write coherent sentences but has some level, with a bit of maybe year 2/3 level maths.
What makes returning even more frustrating is using a scheme of work meant to 'save time', but it this one doesn't. It needs hours of prep and becomes tedious.I know I could plan and teach it better than this thing!
Unusually switched off really well over Christmas. Sadly that is making the return to work so much worse.
Iβd never come across schools that had teachers on contracts until now. Current school would have everyone on contract if they could. Madness imo. Or is it? Is this the norm and Iβve just been lucky?
A little profile pic/bio upgrade!
Massively stuck on what to do. Contracted long-term supply told her TA on Friday, "if I'm not back next week then theres the planning and resources." I know she is having a really tough time and struggling. Head wasn't in Friday, so I couldn't share my concerns. Should I reach out on a Sunday?
Perfect! Signed up! PPA afternoon too so in theory at home and undisturbed!
Oh the irony of listening to this driving home with 90 books in the car and our teacher βmarking and feedbackβ matrix in the hope of getting moved from emerging to developing in Mondays book scrutinyβ¦ ππ«©

Need to get back over here. What have I missed? Who should I follow?
Is it normal practice for schools to state 2 out of 3 appraisal targets rather than giving staff a choice? #eduskyprimary
Does anyone know if your headteacher is saying 'no things are too busy you cant do your NPQ', then can you still do it outside of the school?
Arghhh Iβve switched off this summer and found a life that isnβt work. Now I donβt wanna go back!!!!! πππ

realise who he is because he is one of the ones that sits and gets on with his work and doesn't cause an issue. And therefore not one those teachers automatically know by name.
But I know and understand why some teachers end up using copy and paste, or a bank of statements so much - our time is stretched. Even at secondary now having a child who is very quiet I've sat down in front of teachers in a huge hall where they've quite literally had to look at my sons name to
Its funny because prior to being a teacher I valued my kids reports. Then I became a teacher, realised things like the copy and paste, or Twinkl phrases being used, and suddenly those reports had zero value. As such I always try my hardest to make my really individual and specific to the child.

Shall we review?
If you are poor, your life is now harder
If you are trans, your life is now harder
If you are disabled, your life is now harder
If you are young, your life is now harder
If you are an asylum seeker, your life is now harder
Thatβs fair. My sons school use their phones for lots of accessing quizzes etc. for their learning so seems very mixed.
