All the trims and tightenings have already made it ten pages longer than draft 1 π

Itβs surprisingly easy to get Christie wrong, it would seem. The stories and structures are so solid, it always amazes me when people decide to mess about with them and try to βimproveβ them π±
Weβve just ejected the DVD of A HAUNTING IN VENICE from the machine. Daft as a brush, but stylistically done. I think I enjoyed it more second time around. Not the greatest (I think youβre right in your choices) but not dreadful either π
Not really, but I did have a cheese sandwich, and a nice cup of tea π
Anyway, Iβm going to try and appreciate this tiny moment of joy before diving into the task rewriting the blooming thing π
Iβm sure itβs probably a matter of complete indifference to most of the cold, uncaring universe, but today, just before lunchtime, I completed the first draft of the second GRUNTLEIGH βCOMPLICATIONSβ novella (!)
Absolutelyβ¦ Iβve just been very conscious lately of some people using that film in particular to press other narratives of their own, if you know what I meanβ¦

Finally got around to watching Hitchcockβs THE LODGER on ITVX, and, apart from some frankly terrible soundtrack choices (recent additions), itβs still rather fascinating at 99 years old π
